She's here!

So BIG NEWS! I having been talking to Vera today about possible come home dates! I'll wait to announce the date after she confirms with her shipper.
OMG! I only thought I was excited. Hell, I'm almost out of control now!

Eek! How exciting :D

Gosh, she's going to have an amazing first Christmas in her forever home. And how cute is that ornament? It's adorable!

Ha! She may make her first appearance in the naughty puppy thread in the first week she's home! All the Christmas decorations just may prove too tempting for a pup!
Hubby and I were talking about it last night. He kept saying it won't be a big deal. Drake was also born in September so he was about the same age when he came home. I keep telling him Drake was an exceptionally good pup. I don't know if we'll be that lucky again. Then I introduced him to the naughty puppy thread. All he could say is DAMN! He still thinks we should decorate for Christmas. Do you think that's because he won't be the one keeping her out of all the stuff?
I can see her unwrapping gifts and taking off across the room with my favorite ornaments.
One thing for sure, when it's time to take it all down, it will be during her nap time.

Lol she may well make her first appearance in the naughty puppy thread. You'll have a very young, inquisitive puppy on yours hands. A decorated Christmas tree with baubles baubles hanging, it's a HUGE temptation for them. Haha!! Last years was Kobi's first Christmas, he was 5 months old. He pretty much cleared the bottom half of the tree. We normally hang chocolates on there, too. That was big no no last year.

I'm absolutely overjoyed for you guys. We will hopefully get some extra cute Christmas shots, too. Hopefully showing off that beautiful red collar you've got her.

Genny that is so cute !!! Love it !!! I want 4 !

I can certainly make you some. Send me a pm if you are serious and I'll give you the details.

Our dogs each have one for Christmas, spring/summer and fall so there is always something on the wall like that. I love them all![/QUOTE]

I had forgotten about the spring/summer ones. Surprised about that because they were fun to make.

I have a date for the big homecoming. I am considering not saying anything and just popping up with pics of the big, umm, make that HUGE event!

I think it would be sort of mean to keep us hanging like that. LOL

I know  I'm feeling ornery today. :spit:

I very strongly vote against this idea!!! We need to know!!
Well, whichever way you decide to do it, I know you'll share plenty of pictures!!
This is starting to "feel real" now!!

I doubt I will be able to keep it to myself. I'm just too excited to do that.
But you're right, it is starting to feel VERY real! I can't sit still or wipe the smile off my face.

Don't keep us hanging!! We need a date. Lol

:tap: :pullhair:

I couldn't keep it to myself either. I'd burst like a bubble! I just couldn't contain that amount of excitement.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that having Rumor here will help distract me from remembering my girl isn't.
WOW! what an emotional roller coaster. One minute I'm happy and excited that Rumor is coming home and the next I'm sad and missing Goober. Letting that leash out with each step toward a new journey is tough.
But this is right for us. Everything thing about us needs 2 dogs. So while this phase hurts like hell, it is what we need to do.
Whoever said the only thing wrong with dogs is that don't live long enough certainly got it right.

Plan your trip accordingly @GennyB, Chicago is NO place to get lost in! Be safe!

To keep things easy I was just going to drive there and pick her up by myself. Hubby said I don't think so. He is coming with me and we are going to stop and spend the night along the way. It's only just over 300 hundred miles one way, so not a bad trip. We just thought it might be good idea to spend some time with Rumor as well as give her a chance to eat. Some dogs get car sick if they eat so I think our plan will work out just fine.
