She's here!

They're a handsome pair for sure. With so much DNA in common, we'll have to compare notes as they continue to develop. My wife is getting so emotional when she sees his pictures.

Umm...your wife is not alone. I find if I am anywhere near my phone or computer I'm looking at her pics. Hubby came home the other day and said "You must have gotten new pics, you look so excited." Not sure what that says about me on other days....

BTW, that second pic of Gelert makes me almost able to hear the puppy grunts. So cute!

Never heard the expression before, but very very accurate

We have lots of little euphemisms. I have always heard the American english is the hardest to learn, guess that's why. Add in the country is so big and it's different depending on what part your from I'm sure it gets confusing.

Aww, thanks! I have to be honest and say I shed a lot of tears. Mostly because I am happy, but there was some sadness in there too. Another step in letting go of my Goober. :( I know she is happy for me. She's standing up there smiling down at me. I'm just happy she taught me to love enough to do it again.
Thanks Greta, my #1 goober! Always grateful you chose me!

I love the nickname you had for your dog. My red dobie had the same nickname. I often called her my ruby doobie goober boober lol. I think it's things like that, that make the painful days a bit nicer.

She earned it. Such a sweet Goober. Sometimes she would just be standing there or doing anything really, and I 'd say "hey Goobie Doobie" and she would do this wiggle dance and just looked so happy. She had such a knack for making everybody just feel good. I miss that. Nothing like being a genuinely happy dog.

Congrats you two! They are beautiful puppies. Genny, I love Rumor's expression. What a face!!

Thanks! I think she is absolutely adorable. I can't get Drake to agree just yet. I showed him some pics and he would only turn his head like "I want nothing to do with this."
I 'm going to remind him of his poor attitude in a few months when he is just as smitten as I am.
Actually I have already started giving him a hard time. He had such a good time having Gigi here for Thanksgiving. I kept reminding him he missed having a fulltime playmate. Of course I didn't add that Rumor will be Gigi on steroids.

Drake will have his paws full for sure with Rumor. :)
It will be a whole new world for him, one that will evolve into best friends for life. They will make a beautiful pair and I look forward to you documenting every moment of it.

LOL poor Drake better get his rest now. :D

I can't wait to see pics of these pups with their new look when Vera has time to send some. Well I actually can't wait til they get home with you so we can see their daily antics. LOL

Drake's about to get his world turned upside down. I' m sure we will hit some bumps along the way but have no doubt he will step up like he always has. I love that boy, always willing to just roll with whatever comes his way.

I can't wait for the the post crop pics. I'm sure I will be thrilled with the results. Her vet does a good job.

As far as coming home.....do I really need to respond? Yesterday isn't soon enough.

Gigi is spending some time here this weekend. Busy weekend for restaurants so my son is putting in tons of hours. Of course I am more than happy to have her. At least she seems excited about Rumor's arrival. We had a talk this morning and she was dancing around like she can't wait.

On another note, I think I mentioned my son was interviewing for his dream job. Well he got the job! So happy for him. He loves it and he is working for a great guy. The owner gave the employees turkeys and some or the fixin's, including dessert. Dan got a 20 lb. turkey, the makings for dressing, sweet potatoes, fresh green beans and a gooey butter cake. Of course you have to live in St. Louis to know what a gooey butter cake is but wow, what a nice jester from the boss!

That's great news! Congrats to him!

I miss working for companies that really care about their employees. Congrats to your son!

This is a restaurant and the owner is the nicest guy. He really appreciates his employees and it shows in their loyalty to him. My son has wanted to work there since he graduated from culinary school. It's almost impossible to get a job there because nobody leaves. The sous chef's wife lost her job with Boeing and found job in another state. Whala! Job opening that my son went for and got. He loves it because he is given lots of freedom to be creative. He hates working for chain restaurants where he has to go by the book.
More companies should follow this example, happy employees are invaluable.

So BIG NEWS! I having been talking to Vera today about possible come home dates! I'll wait to announce the date after she confirms with her shipper.
OMG! I only thought I was excited. Hell, I'm almost out of control now!

Oh Lord, now I'm feeling out of control, too! This is so exciting!
In my mind I'm picturing the whole scene...you guys loading up to go to the airport, making her a comfy spot to sit/sleep in the car (even though you won't use it because she will not leave your arms!), her first sniffs of Drake, etc. (is he going to the airport with you to pick her up?)
I know...I'm so weird it's scary at times! Y'all should be glad we don't live close to each other!...

Hell yes I'm gonna hold her! At least until she starts biting me, then the crate might be a good place for her.
Not sure yet if Drake is going with us to the airport. It will probably depend on what time her fiight gets in and a few other details still left up in the air. We'll get it all worked out before the big day.
