Ah, the radio silence. It's tough. If it is ear-cropping time, it might be understandable that it's a busier time. I would say stressful, but I bet Vera and her associates (I assume she has some help) have been through ear cropping so many times it's old hat.

Well, we're waiting along with you. :)

I remember when Vera and I first started talking about a pup and she mentioned radio silence. The was a strange moment for me. I can't imagine.

And yes, Vera has help. She has some of the top dogs in EU so they are very much in demand. She actually has another litter on the ground now, maybe a week old? It's a Valdo/Lola litter. So yes, help is a necessity.

So Vera actually mentioned radio silence? In other words acknowledging that she would occasionally not be in contact? I mean, I totally understand that and am not judging one way or another. It's interesting though that a Serbian person would use that term. But what do I know?

By the way, I wasn't implying anything negative when I said she probably has help. I realize they are a very prominent and sought-after breeder.

No worries. I am confident enough in my choice that nothing anybody could say would bother me in the least. Somebody doesn't like my choice....that's okay with me. Nobody else's money is paying for her and nobody else will live with her or will take care of her and train her. I will. Everything about this pup is right for me, from her pedigree to the breeder. In a breed that has so many "styles", all this breeder choice bashing is just ridiculous. How does anyone else know what I am looking for in a dog?

And yes, that was my vent for the day. I have been called names, been hung up on and God only knows what else since I made my choice. That's absurd!

On another note, I heard from Vera. I have new pics. :) We are trying to cram 5 days of work into 3 days and it's a bit crazy.
I'll get them posted tonight when i have some time. OMG! She has gotten do big!
Ear crop was today because of some complications, nothing to do with the pups, they are fine. More to do with some stuff going on over there. All is well and the pups are doing GREAT!

That's sour grapes and that dumb rivalry between some breeders. It would be nice if they'd all stand together for the betterment of the breed.

I'm glad the crops went well and I can't wait to see new pics!

I so agree with this, also why I won't be saying the name of breeder because I don't want to hear it. I know that are a great breeder :) that's all that matters :)
 
Just to clear up any confusion, "radio silence" was my turn of phrase and not something that Vera suggested might happen; she normally responds promptly and courteously. She hasn't respnded to a mesage I sent her and I assumed that she was v busy.
I'm glad to hear the vet's visit went well and I'm looking forward to seeing the pups soon.

That's great news.
I'll echo what you said, I have no misgivings about Vera or "redacted" kennel or Gelert's crop and dock. Surprised to hear that you're taking so much flak - Doberman Forum I presume?

Me, I don't care and am actually enjoying making a fool out of them. :evilgrin: I find it interesting that nobody has had the guts to take it public. Most of the crap has been on the phone or through PM'S .

Actually it is other breeders. I had contacted several before making my decision. Then one of them contacted me to tell me they had a pup come back and wanted to know if I was interested. Had to pass because I had a pup on the way. Then the word got out. :tap:
