Introducing Melrae's Houston We Have A Problem (Call name: Ripley).

Her registered name because she was supposed to be a black boy until further investigation! LOL but she was meant to be!!

We picked her up yesterday and we are already in absolute love with her. We have our breeder Melissa to thank for giving us an amazing girl!

She was waltzing around like she owned the place and walked up to us with no fear as soon as we walked in to pick her up. She's an absolute doll as you can see. She's given plenty of tickly kisses and she slept the entire 4 hour ride home, refueling her tank for naughty puppy antics later.

She's 9 weeks yesterday. She was 8 weeks in the stack pic.

We waited for a bit to introduce them so Ripley could get used to everything and us. Paige has been so fantastic and loves her. She's been very helpful in helping us with follow the leader game. Up the stairs, outside to potty. I'm so pleased with how they both are getting on. They did lots of play bowing last night and Paige has been so gentle with her. Letting them each have their own time outside their kennels, and limited time together. It's all been great training right away to learn to exist and not be center of attention lol.

We also already learned that cats are a no go with a swift swipe, lol! It'll take them so getting used to but at least they can get away and have their own space.

After a morning of learning a new routine and trying to get that breakthrough of outside = potty (I've sprinted up the stairs 4x this morning with puppy scooped up), she asked for snuggles. And then she promptly fell asleep in my arms. My heart is swollen.

Oh dear! I 100% was planning to hear the whining. She's certainly letting me hear the song of her people when we do crate sessions though.

I'm almost tearing up here reading about Paige's reaction too. How old is Paige again?

Me too! Its been so sweet like they've been BFFs forever. We adopted Paige in early 08 and she was estimated to be 7 months old which puts her bday around May so we think she's 13. When we adopted Java first, Paige was the one that wormed her way into Java's heart and got her to play with another dog. She's always been our puppy in spirit and she still is. I'm sure there will be a point in a few weeks that Paige will have to tell her that she's had enough face punching lol! But Ripley has been very good about entertaining herself and not being obsessed with Paige.

Ripley is napping and I'm on a new medicine that's made me quite nauseous and getting little sleep so time to sneak another short nap in.

Congrats on Ripley’s arrival! Cute little puppy with lots of cute new toys to play with! Love the pic of her checking out Paige inside the caged off area. What I loved about puppy Kaiser was his giant paw pads. They were like soft rubber tires lol. Now they are like scratchy sandpaper attached to baseball bat legs, so be sure to check those out while she’s small enough to snuggle in your lap.
