Look at this Dane! She belongs to a neighbor a street over. Fittest one I remember ever seeing. The shadows prevent seeing the ripped musculature of the back half. Her conformation looks so good too. About 4 yrs. old. They feed her 6 cups of kibble per day in two meals. I asked in the past, and the woman said she is a Euro, though she didn't say it convincingly enough to assure me she understood exactly what that meant. This dog seems decently confident with other dogs, but she's too shy of people. She did have a scrap with Oji in the past as she ran out of her house as we walked by. Equally matched they were, but Oji had to work harder of course. Gorgeous dog if you ask me. Imagine her with cropped ears!

He is a cool looking dog. How many do you normally keep at a time?

I have room for Tank plus Three. I’m assuming that’ll be normal occupancy when the snows off the ground. So far that’s only happened over a three day period.

I've sort of been following what looks like a pretty good Dane breeder in this state. And she crops.

I looked once again at their website. I would consider them, but I feel their dogs, and the breed in general are just not good guard dogs. What's more, I don't think I'd be up for trying to get a Dane's ears to stand. Cool looking Danes though, for the most part! I see she states some of hers lived to 10 or even 12 yrs.

Love this girl so much. She's progressing really well. We have been working a lot on down stays and heeling in all sorts of scenarios. Went for a walk in a much busier park downtown with some down stays and then did the same in Stock and Field after lunch. Decided to go to the store after to work on neutral reactions with strange men and reward her for looking then checking in because she growled at a guy in the park for staring at her. Look how close other people were to her while shopping for their pets. She did sooo good, didn't make a peep. I did a down stay right by the entrance and she kept checking in with me like she is with my husband in the pics. Good girl!

All the work you are doing with Ripley is certainly paying off. I know she is a live wire so you deserve cudos for making such progress!

Thank you! I've been working overtime on her obedience. The growling/warning bark at men has been new, usually when they stare at her. Reminds me of Asha @Ravenbird so we are trying to give her as many neutral experiences as possible and reward her for looking to us for guidance. She can look, but not too long. That's when trouble starts, especially if they stare back. I don't mind that she is maturing in this way but I want her to remain neutral so we can not let it slide to where she blows up or takes matters into her hands. My social puppy doesn't care to greet people anymore. ;) But she loves people she knows like her obedience and cgc instructors. Acceptable behavior, imo.
