Orijen Puppy Large Breed

You didn't really think he was going to be good for the entire process, now really, he's a baby boy Dobe, & that spells trouble

For the first 3 weeks, he was a dream didn’t get in trouble. Then these last 4 days he’s began to be a poophead. Lol. Biting, grabbing things he shouldn’t and playing with his ears when he shouldn’t lol.

He’s also destroyed both of my ears and ruined shirts from making me bleed. Lol

Omg I was just going to ask how he's handling the couch! He looks so peaceful sleeping but you can't trust it.

To his defense, he hasn’t bitten the couch. That’s from his paws scratching it when he plays. The couch is old and showed signs of wear already and just gave us an excuse to buy a new Rex proof couch. This one will be thrown out soon.

Dude knows not to mess with certain things though. He will not touch any of the electronics, he got close once and I lost my sh!t yelled at him and told him if he ruins the tv he gets put up for adoption.

My stomach is hurting from all the laughing. First that freaky mask now this...ok, let's get serious.

You do have to curb any inappropriate nipping or he'll keep doing it with his adult teeth too. And by then, he'll be able to give you an ear cropping

Couldn't resist :)

He has an E collar now. He gets a beep, vibration then shock in that escalation. Each one with a “no” it’s improved his nipping quite a lot.

If this doesn't work, bite him back on his ear! ....I'm serious, Grace was and still a bit when over excited been a nipper and I bit down a little on her ear and never have to worry for the rest of the day....You should see the crazy eyes when you do it!:eek::eek:

This reminds me of me when we first used a trainer. It was a private session at home and she told me I needed more work than the dog did :D

E-collar on a puppy is a no-no. Does he understand regular corrections yet? I don't know enough about this as I'm still on the fence about using one myself and my boy is 20 months old. Why not start a new thread to get some more feedback from those that use them.

Grace got hers at 6 months...I used tone only to get her used to it while training...now at 14+ months I vibrate as well...I don't train hard like Doberman Gang so there's never a time where she might need to be stocked except if going out on the street etc...(never going to happen) I hope.

The trainer I go to went over our last class on using the e collar on him. I understand he is a puppy, but so far the e collar has had great success and his attitude has improved. He also gets other corrections. But he gets tone 99% of the time and it works.
