Haven't really posted on here for a while. I seem to do that a lot - disappear, and then realize I've disappeared, stay for a couple of days, and then unintentionally disappear again. LOL. Oh well.. here's some recent shots of her.

(These were all taken at two separate dog parks, for the record - not my dogs. LOL. The basset is her good buddy, Oliver.)

Great shots! What a beautiful dog!!!! I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever seen a Basset move that fast before... LOL!

Don't worry, we know life goes on, but we do appreciate you remembering us and coming back to share photos. :)

hahah, everyone seems so surprised that a Basset and a Doberman would make great playmates. They get along far better than I ever would have expected, myself; he definitely keeps her on her feet and he loves to wrestle like no other. He usually outruns her (I'm genuinely not sure how, but he does!), and loves to play keep away from her - as you can tell by the photos.

Though thinking about it now, I suspect him outrunning her is due to her not wanting to hurt him. She probably could tackle him if she wanted, she just has no inclination to do so. So that's probably it. :p

Ya know, I am sure that she is doing the typical womanly thing and letting the boy think that he is DA MAN ! I mean we wouldnt want the boys to finally figure out that us girls really rule the world right? :sonn_u11:

I bet any " would be " criminals were watching that big bad Doberman get pounded on by that Bassett and thought " and I've been scared of a Doberman all these years !" :no2:

LOL no kidding. For example, the last few pictures were from today, and when we showed up at the dog park (it's one that we don't usually go to but have been trying out as I prefer those grounds to the smaller park that's closer to home), I heard people whispering about how scary she looked and how mean she looked, etc.

That would be because we walk her on a prong collar (high prey drive), and she was super excited to be there - so there was no slack on the lead. When I let her in and off leash, everyone was sooo confused because she didn't just go around and start biting their animals. LOL. She's such a lover, it's great to be one of the people who can break people's preconceived notions of what a breed should be like. When they ask me why she's so much nicer than they expected, I explain to them that they're a generally nice breed, etc.

Though of course there are always people you don't really care to correct, because you WANT them to think it wouldn't be okay for them to break into your home.. but that's another story for another day. lol

It's funny how some people don't understand the prong thing and assume it's to make your dog look big and bad/or that they are big and bad.

I like that the basset looks to be in good shape! Looks like Monster had fun and even practiced some unintentional agility there too.

Great pics! Monster and that basett sure do get along well :) He's a cutie-pie and much more agile than most I've seen.

Thanks for the pictures - they are truly having a blast together - Funny to see a Doberman and a Basset playing. I didn't know bassets ever got that much energy.

So nice to see an update from you and Monster! She looks great and very happy! Thanks for stopping in! :D

I don't even know what that's supposed to mean, Von?

But thank you to the rest of you for your kind words. Monster and Oliver did have an awesome time, though we have not been back to that particular dog park in a while. :)
