Kimbertal

Kimbertal rarely breeds dogs in their facility anymore and because of their new breeding model bitches are not bred repeatedly. Puppies only find their way to Kimbertal after 8 wks for 10 to 14 days after cropping and healing then off to their new homes.

Doberman Breeder Puppies

OWN KIMBERTAL'S FINEST FEMALE PUPPIES AT NO COST!

Kimbertal observes the time-honored tradition of reserving its finest female pups as breeders to maintain the quality of its internationally recognized lines. These pups are selectively entered into the Kimbertal breeding program based on their outstanding conformation which meets or exceeds breed standards, as well as their stable temperaments, winning personalities, health and physical stamina.

Under our no-cost breeding agreement, each pup is home-raised by a selected family and returned to be bred at the appropriate time to one of Kimbertal's champion studs. When the pups reach 7 weeks of age, the family delivers the litter to Kimbertal and the "mom" is theirs to keep, free and clear. This practice insures that every pup is properly socialized in a home environment from the time they are born until they are placed with their new families.

Families who wish to participate in Kimbertal's reciprocal arrangement must live within 90 minutes of Kimbertal, pass a screening interview and agree to the breeding arrangement. Kimbertal provides the stud service, all veterinary care, some food supplies and any necessary medications. From time to time, conditions may allow some of these elite females to be available for $3000.

Contact Kimbertal directly at (610)933-3600 or [email protected] for additional information.

Kimbertal will take puppies or adults back without any question.

If the dog doesnt grow to a certain size that the owner expects, they will take it back. If the person changes their mind and wants a red dog instead of a black dog, they will take it back. If they decide they dont want a rottweiler and would prefer a doberman, they will take the puppy or adult back. No questions asked and they will hand them another puppy.

I dont personally like this idea one bit. They really need to change their policies for the better. I think if they would step up and do the right thing, they wouldnt have such a bad reputation. There are so many things they can do to improve.

My biggest problems is they buy champions from Europe that have retired and they just breed them. They don't know the standard or if they do they don't have any concept on how to produce it.

What champions? the titles they advertise for their studs are all fake..
For example...take their flagship Iran di Altobello..he is advertised on Kimbertal site as International Champion!!! :))
Iran-malistav.jpg

Altobello Dobermann Kennel - CH Iran di Altobello

Iran is a great dog BUT was never an interntional champion..the few titles he won were all in youth class, because by the time he grew out of youth class, he was 76cm (way above standard)

He exchanged more than few homes in Europe before he ended up at Kimbertal as a stud..

I know him well...he is half brother to my Kaiser.. Both sired by El Diablo

I assume she meant local CH ie: Champion of Serbia, etc...

Tsenturian Sant Kreal comes to mind.. Although that dog in that kennel turned into a interesting scandal to.. I also recall there being some rumbling of fake or inexistent titles regarding TSK to so I have little reason to doubt your claim as it seems to be something they have been somehow getting away with for years. There must be some legal loophole they are exploiting..

Ice - Back in the 70's when the father Bob Yarnell ran it he bought American retired champions to promote his kennel. When the ch pedigrees started showing up in his pedigree's they STOPPED selling to him and that is when he moved to the European market. He started buying retired European ch or titled dogs. That is not to say that when the passed the kennel on to his son that he continued buying all ch and I would not putit past them to advertise things that are not necessarily true. I just had not heard nor do I follow what he is standing in his kennel.

We do see the same thing here, however which is one of the biggest problems in our system that we will ch a puppy (full American CH) and then they turn out too big or just all wrong. I would say that little flaw may be what is going on within Kimbertal and maybe that is why so many of their dogs are now way oversized.

I sure wish I had read this last week. I just drove 20 hours (round trip) and paid after taxes $2650 for a female from Kimbertal. I was there so I agree they breed lots of pups.

I also agree the pups get very little human contact. My girl is wild and acts like she has not had much human contact.

A lady named Ann and her 2 daughters run the place and the owner never came out of the house. The Kennels are as clean as they can be due to the number of pups in there. The smell was bad but the pups were very clean.

We were told they sale about 5 a week and that doubles around the holidays. So yes they put out lots of pups.

All i can do now is hope for the best.

They do breed for mainly money. You can get the same quality pup for much less from a private breeder. They have many males and females that spend a LOT of time in cages for most of their lives producing one litter after another. I would not get a puppy from them.

I have made 2 bad decisions recently with breeders. Im new to the Doberman breed but i will never own another breed. I have a wonderful 2 year old male but that breeder is awful.
I decided to get a female and found bigdoberman.com i had 3 great conversations with the owner so i decided to send $500 deposit. It went downhill from there.
I started trying to get my deposit back and found Kimbertal and went ahead and made that drive. I bought a female pup that i will say is beautiful. They do not spend any time with the pups. I hope thatdon't have a long term affect on my girl.

That is too bad, but all we can do is live and learn and do the best we can for the dogs once we have them. The breeder we got our male from was not the best, but we learned after we had him and made a better decision when it came time to get our female. The good thing is that now you realize that they weren't the best and you can learn now what to do better down the road when it comes time for your next pup. In the meantime love your two and do your best to make them good companions.

I also have a Kimbertal puppy. Got her yesterday in fact.. shipped to California. My husband bought her as a Christmas gift. She's a gorgeous pup. Lovely ear crop, they are already standing which gives me hope that with dilligent taping they will end up looking great. I'm friends on Facebook with Kimbertal and have seen both good and bad things said about them when researching. The negative comments I've seen that are actually from people who have had direct contact/experience with a Kimbertal dog (as opposed to bandwagon bashing across the popular Dobie forums) are from rather old threads and very generalized.. yes they put out a lot of pups, have no regard as to what type of home they are ending up in, and that "a friend of a friend" has one with "temperament issues".. I personally thought their dogs were beautiful and I've messaged several Kimbertal owners they have friended on Facebook (as well as a vet tech from the vet they use) and there is a surprising amount of positivity and satisfaction with their dogs. I guess only time will tell with my little one. I'm iffy about even telling her where she is from though. My husband and I took her to Petsmart today and spoke with a really nice, knowledgeable trainer who has Dobies of her own and she nearly fainted when I said "Kimbertal." We're going to do our best with her...we have 4 other dogs, rescues (2 strays, 2 pound puppies), with a host of their own physical and psychological problems.. so if she does end up being a bad choice we'll be able to deal.. but it will be a lesson learned I suppose. I am hoping for the best of course!

We hope the best for your pup as well! :) The biggest problem I see is that they are in it for the money and not to better the breed. There are plenty of unwanted pups out there already that I firmly believe you shouldn't breed unless there is a greater purpose than money or "just because". They don't care very much about where their puppies go, that is evident in just how many Kimbertal dogs are used by BYB types. I've seen this in my own male's pedigree who came from a breeder who was, not awful, but not a breeder I would buy from again knowing what I do now. That said, the pup is alive and now in your home, focus on enjoying her and don't feel afraid to reach out here if you ever need help or just want to share your experiences with us.

I bet yours is the sister to mine. I was there when someone called about shipping a pup but i didn't know where she was going.

I will not send my girl back she is gorgeous and I'm sure she will be a great dog. I hope your girl does well also.

Wow I bet they are litter mates! Who are your puppy's sire and dam? My pups sire is Donn Chagall and the dam is Daphne..lovely dogs, Anne sent me a photo of Daphne and I connected with Daphne's owner on Facebook.

I've seen one Ktal pup in person, not impressed, I would never support or perpetuate a breeding operation such as Kimbertal when there are vastly greater options and support/knowledge with incredible Doberman breeders we have access to in the states. I would not be proud if my pup came from such a place, especially with the history of their dogs ending up in rescues.

First let me say I wish everyone - anyone the best with their puppy regardless of where it comes from. As far as health goes you have a decent shot at health - There is no real health guarantee as so many things can affect overall health for the long haul.

I have through the years had a couple of folks come to me for training who had bought Kimbertal puppies. One was bought as a show prospect - the puppy was so shy from lack of physical socialization and had absolutely NO FOOD DRIVE, TOY Drive or did not even relate to the human voice and contact. My problem is selling something that they have no clue about. Any knowledgeable breeder would have at best put the puppy in a pet home NOT show home. Then watching the puppy gait it was obvious it had a problem in the rear end. Ended up the puppy was dysplastic so was spayed and placed as a pet. They did not want to send the puppy back for fear it would just go into Kimbertal's uncheck breeding gene pool.

ALL puppies are cute as the devil. It is when they grow up you can see the lack of care in breeding. While some may feel it does not matter to the purpose of purebred dogs it does matter. We are suppose to be breeding to better the breed not create unnecessary problems. People who are not knowledgeable in the correct structure and appearance (conformation) Think any dog is beautiful because they don't know what they are looking at or for. If you put a correctly bred dog next to one just bred to sell you will quickly see the difference. That is why everyone should attend some shows and see correctly put together dogs.

So when you breed oversized dogs you will have a great chance of bone and joint problems as well as other things. I am for stacking the deck in my favor of success.

Thank you for the comment. I hope for the best with my new pup. I will never return her i will just have to suck it up. The $2650 i paid for her is not worth her being returned to the unknown.
I didn't get to meet the owner but Ann was only interested in doing the sale paperwork and getting me gone. Her daughters work there and i have no clue as to there knowledge.

Like i said it was apparent from the time i got there the pups are not socialized much if any. I think they do what they with so many dogs and pups to take care of.

I think there was 6-8 new litters there when i was picking up my girl.

Wow!! Thats was rude.

Don't get us wrong, we applaud you for that and encourage you to stick around to share your experiences with us. However before getting defensive about any replies here, remember that you are in the "Breeder beware" section. While rude comments are never acceptable, this is a section designed for people to talk about the bad they've seen from certain breeders. The comments are not going to be complementary, sorry.

I will say Kimbertal is leaps and bounds above the guy i got my male from. Jordon Johnson that owns Hungs kennel is a nightmare. If i could have i would have bought every pup he had to get them away from that dump. He himself is nuts and i think a little bipolar and I'm not kidding.

I don't think any of his pups ever see the vet before sold. He docks their tales himself to save money. When he docks them he just places back with them mom for her to clean up. When i got my male pup his tale was infected. He gives them their shots on site or at least he claims he does.

It took me 6 months to get my registration paperwork. My male has a few white hairs popping up on his body and he will be 2 in January. I asked Jordon and he said all dogs get white hair when they get older. Lol he is not even 2 yet.

Again my boy has turned out wonderful so I'm very happy with him. Thats why i went directly to Kimbertal all of his dogs are from them. He has good dogs but he is a bad breeder in my opinion.
