It's a Dobie thing!

Does anyone else have Doberman who will not leave things upright? I mean smaller things like stuff on the coffee table. I always stand things like the Dremel or hand lotion up and he just can't resist knocking them over, then he leaves it alone. Lately it's been a can of bug repellent that hubby leaves on the ledge in the garage and every singe time he goes by he knocks it over and keeps going on his merry way.
Oh and the other night I set a bottle of beer down on the coffee table long enough to fix the blankets on the couch and guess what? LOL
Jan mine do this too. The small glass bottles of coke, both of them have knocked them off and a couple times shattered the bottle. Now I am careful about setting it down. They knock over my perfume bottles on the vanity too.
They give you a look as if to say, "hey they were standing so I laid them down."
Bogie is notorious for knocking my clothes off the edge of the counter when I put them on hangers until I can get them in the closet.

What a waste of beer! I've watched endless cat videos and I know they like to knock things over. But my angel cat doesn't touch anything :hearteyecat: Kaiser doesn't knock stuff over but we also don't leave any items like that at his level so I can't be sure if he would do that! He's still too young to be trusted.

Yes, that sounds all too familiar. They do like to check the scent of things, of course; but I think maybe they also like to just touch stuff with their noses. Hmmm.

That is a hilarious visual – Albert just knocking over the bug repellent bottle every time like it's just his routine.

Well, this happens to be something that really irritates me, so my expressions of displeasure have kept the habit well in check.

Oh yes. I don't trust Oji around drinks. I will just place them where he is not likely to go nosing around or to accidentally bump.

It's definitely on purpose and if I stand it back upright he'll knock it right back over again with his nose. Maybe that stuff obstructs his view of the TV? LOL
Speaking of which, does anyone else find it highly annoying when your Doberman blocks your remote control signal? We have the TV up high enough in this house that it is not usually a problem, but still can be.

Yes, but it's only on Saturday mornings when I go to turn TWC on for whatever reason. We must follow more of a pattern than I realize...

Yes, causes us to always say; "You make a better door than window", usually it's my husband as he stands in front of the TV without a thought to anyone watching it. Tunnel vision. :/

Before the dog arrived, the cat used to do it all the time. Our receiver is closer to the ground and she would know just where to sit, then you'd have to get up, play with her little mouse on a long string (like a flirt pole) and only then you could proceed with changing channels.that would take 3-5 minutes :hearteyecat: Then the dog arrived and we haven't been able to sit down since!

Our daughter has a cat and watches a lot of them too. She sent me this one that had me. on. the. floor! :lmao: I just love the defiance in his face when the owner says, No,no no no!

Kitty:
What?

You mean.........this? :spit:
Oh that cat is such a little jerk! He's hilarious but only because that's not my stuff he's messing with haha.

I don't know or think its a dobe thing but Mauser howls when he hears sirens. I think he learned it from his huskey friend at the dog park! haha it was the cutest thing, we were walking on the sidewalk when a fire truck passes by with sirens on and he just pauses and starts howling. My kids got a laugh out of it! hahahah

Also! do dobes just like to sit on you no matter where? I was laying in the back yard on my stomach and he has the whole yard to himself but he decides to sit his rump on my thigh! :D

Mine howl at sirens. Actually all the dogs on my street start howling at sirens. They sound pretty pitiful. Lol

Yeah, Oji is up on hind legs at the end of the leash howling AT the emergency vehicle as it passes.

You may want to look in the "Random Video" thread. I have a handful of vids there of Oji howling at a tornado siren and at violin practice.

I made a meme (is that what the kids call it?) from a picture I snapped of my wife trying to do situps on the living room rug and Oji laying his head and neck on her belly.
