Increased mouthiness?

Twilight is 15 weeks old and has always been typically puppy chewing and biting, but this week it seems to have gotten worse. She still has all of her puppy teeth. She will not be redirected!!! Is this a phase of teething, like it gets worse before better? She is driving me crazy!! 15205356141271794551977.webp 15205356415559897060.webp

The nipping is awful, I know. One has to wonder what they need those tiny sharp teeth for or if dogs are somehow genetically related to sharks.

It will pass, but for now you’ll need to persevere. Keep redirecting. Are you using a toy to redirect? You’ll need one close at all times.

Have you tried wetting a tea towel ringing it out and twisting? Place it in the freezer overnight. This might relieve any pain throughout the difficult stage of teething. Supervision is a must.

The way she snaps her jaw I'd say that they are closely related to alligators! So far she has chewed the edges of 3 expensive rugs, the wooden trim on the staircase, and broken the baby lock to the double doors of the home office by jumping on it and busting it open repeatedly.

Duke is 6 months and will sneak a nip in still when he gets excited and playing if he thinks he can get away with it,I think it’s more of away for him to test the waters with people cause he doesn’t do it with everybody really just with people who don’t play with him often. I just correct him and he continues playing and come to think of it I usually only have to only correct him once.

I think true puppy biting is totally different and I say that because around the age your girl is at, the type of biting and nipping he done then was more of I’m trying to play with you and don’t really know that I’m not supposed to use my mouth to bite you. But now with age the nip is more of a challenge and it’s clear that it’s a challenge.
(if not it’s a good bluff game and he needs to play poker:rofl:)

@Kaiser2016 IF Missy hadn't died from eating one, I'd laugh, but...I get so scared about this stuff...
I didn't get Grace for 2 yrs after I felt so bad.
I wonder if they purposely target the things that we react to the most. Does bitter Apple spray work on her? I mean, on the pillows...or I suppose you could spray her too as an aversive to the pillow chewing.

My little dudes been doing this for the last few days as well. He’s 12 weeks old and has started gnawing harder on my hands and the gfs hands. Along with nipping at our faces. When he does this, he gets his jaws held shut and air uo his nose along with a firm “no” sometimes a “no poophead” This usually stops him and then he gets a chew toy immediately after. On rare occasions he gets a swat on the butt which completely stops it.
