Increased mouthiness?

@Antman408 ...Just my opinion...passing no judgement...I keep my commands to one word...and I never swat, it might stop it today, but it will leave "scares"...

Have fun and realize it's a long road we're on...no end in sight, take your time and enjoy every moment...at 12 weeks you can start basic training to get him refused on good behavior...:)....I'm glad he's feeling better.

It's not the biting at me that is really the issue. That hasn't really changed. It's the chewing on the "stuff" that has increased. I literally had to stand on the corner of one rug and try and redirect her attention for almost an hour today. I then got fed up and duct taped the corner to the floor. She promptly removed the duct tape to continue her destruction.

Swatting her elicits no effect. In fact I think she just thinks that's me playing with her. She is truly fearless. You should have seen her trying to get this great dane in our neighborhood to play with her on her walk this afternoon. Lol

I use hot sauce. I put it on everything that’s been chewed that’s not supposed to be chewed. It’s not pretty but it works. Don’t even bother with the apple bitter stuff- doesn’t work.

Duke is 6 months and will sneak a nip in still when he gets excited and playing if he thinks he can get away with it,I think it’s more of away for him to test the waters with people cause he doesn’t do it with everybody really just with people who don’t play with him often. I just correct him and he continues playing and come to think of it I usually only have to only correct him once.

I think true puppy biting is totally different and I say that because around the age your girl is at, the type of biting and nipping he done then was more of I’m trying to play with you and don’t really know that I’m not supposed to use my mouth to bite you. But now with age the nip is more of a challenge and it’s clear that it’s a challenge.
(if not it’s a good bluff game and he needs to play poker:rofl:)

Exactly the same with my Kodak. Now pushing 7 months hasn’t ever been real bad with biting or chewing on things so think I got a bit lucky with him. But now he does while playing might nip if I get him real excited and amped up. I just stop and say na na toy. He literally grabs his toy right away and gives it to me. I worked on that from day one just so he knew better.

My little dudes been doing this for the last few days as well. He’s 12 weeks old and has started gnawing harder on my hands and the gfs hands. Along with nipping at our faces. When he does this, he gets his jaws held shut and air uo his nose along with a firm “no” sometimes a “no poophead” This usually stops him and then he gets a chew toy immediately after. On rare occasions he gets a swat on the butt which completely stops it.

That is a good way by him getting toy. I worked with Kodak and always said na na get your toy and then put it in his mouth. Always when we play. Now it’s rough around if he nips me just a simple no get your toy and it stops. He never and hasn’t really been to much a biter though.

My little dudes in a bit of a “nah bro. Imma bite you still” phase. He’s slowly getting to the point of where a “no” works.

One other thing you need to know...mouthing your hand can also be a way of asking for food...even thought she just got fed, they still beg or maybe you forgot it's dinner time, lol ...and somethings Graces will eat my hand to get my attention to let her out...(remember them don't talk) it's not always a playful activity, but attention getter...

He’s teething hard right now. I’ve learned his way of telling me I’m hungry (sits at the sink where I make his food) or if he has to potty he’ll sit at the door. Or walk around and do a weird strut in front of me saying “ayeeeee I gotta go”.

Lol.
