Why would you go without a dog?

Maybe she was referring to seeing it all. If that 4 day event was happening near me, I'd go too just to watch some of the events - just for fun or to get an idea of things to train for! I've never seen Dock Diving or Barn Hunt events in person and I imagine you can take it all in by being a spectator. Also you can watch the Dobes in conformation for fun & learning. I looked at the GV kennel clubs event page too, an amazing 4 day show!!! A Fast Cat is not listed for their dates on the AKC event finder, so maybe it hasn't been approved yet.

It's hard to get info. I've called and sent emails with no response. I was going to go to their monthly meeting which I was told was on Monday evening but was actually on Tuesday evening. Why would you go without a dog?

To watch other dogs do the things mine won't and live vicariously through them (it was mostly a joke).

It's been my experience that something that is still about two months out might not have all the premiums listed. For instance, I can see the premium for Barn Hunt on the Barn Hunt Associations website calendar and online registration for Dock Diving but I don't see the FastCAT premium listed on the AKCs event website (unless, like @Ravenbird mentioned, it's not a true trial).

Well, it would still be a fun Sunday to go check it out. Just keep checking on the premiums so you can see what the schedule looks like & pick a couple of things that you'd like to see "how that works". Truly, that's a pretty big event that some of us would be envious of, just to get popcorn and stroll the grounds...

Heck, I go to what I can manage. Sometimes that means only one day. Can't hurt to try it out even going in blind its a pretty easy sport to jump into and the people there will help you if you are new.

Lifetime averages (top 3 runs of all time) put Rubie at 144th of all Dobermans and Moose at 290th.

We're running this weekend so Moo should get his BCAT!

Nothing like a pit stop on the way to and back from a wedding I saw there was a Fast Cat not that far out of the way on our 5 hour drive to Ohio and they were accepting day of show, sweet!

Saturday she ran 24.37 and then 24.5 mph. Today she beat her personal best both runs with a new personal best of 24.87! Not bad for this little pony's first time!!

She's never ran so fast in her life LOL. She yipped and barked the whole way. I think she wasted a lot of energy waiting in the blind as DOS kept getting pushed back for people that had a time slot but they were also pretty late. It took all my might to walk her (she's on two legs at this point) to the start line. I swear I need cleats. It was nicer releasing her today though. She went down on her front legs, front paws on the line and leaned back on her rear legs, coiled and ready to go like a marathon sprinter. The gate ladies complimented that it was a nice launch!

Jogged her around after and hot walked her... She decided the pic spot looked like a really nice place to lay down



Saturday first time seeing the lure zip by... And this is what she wasted a lot of energy on today I will definitely be getting a wider collar for her for this!

It's totally normal!! There were some other screamers. I always get a kick out of the hand held screamers

@Rits - you guys are rockin' the Do Everything! And Ripley is becoming a pro "jack of all trades"! Congrats on a great first time run(s)! Now you have to get her a beautiful quick release wide collar to keep tucked in her bag in case you drive by a Fast Cat on your way to another event... LOL. Hopefully Asha will get her freaking mind on the lure next time and catch up with you speedsters! We're entered for one in Santa Fe end of the month!

I have thought about those but I was reading from people that do this way more that they don't even use them because it causes resistance and you can accidentally lose your dog! She's really wild when we are on deck to being on deck . I had to physically brace myself against the blind to hold her. I might just get a really wide collar to hold onto (I wonder if a handle collar is ok so long as it lays flat?) or all in one slip collar and remove that at the line.

Yay! Good luck!! I have a feeling the more you do it the more Asha will realize momma is at the end and it'll be fun to chase that bunny too!

She's just so fun, very eager to do anything I ask and I know that's a huge bonus of this breed! I'm taking the opportunity to trying everything right now, learn it all, having lots of fun while at it, nail some novice titles here or there. Once we get to intermediate or advanced levels in a few years probably narrow down to only a few focuses at a time.
