Falcon's page

Well, we entered a local smaller trial yesterday....I only entered one day for experience around so many people and dogs. We were there about 4 hours before he got into the ring....I assumed it would be just like a run through with him, and he might not qualify....NICE SURPRISE!!! IMG_2606.webpThis boy amazed me! Thought I would share some photos...we did Rally Novice, and earned a 94 and 4th place!!!! We had so much fun, and his tail was wagging (can't miss that!) the whole day. I did not want to haul a wire crate, and he literally had no experience in a soft crate; but I brought the soft anyway. Filled bones with frozen canned food, to keep him busy while hanging out. He was an absolute dream. Falcon did not care about the reactive dogs who barked in their crates near him, and went right into the crate after a potty break. IMG_2620.webp

Here is the video...in Rally you are allowed to "redo" an exercise, and on the second sign Falcon did not put his elbows down for the "down"he was too busy sniffing!....I didn't notice till I got all the way around him, and when I told the judge I was redoing the sign she said "Good Choice" - so he actually would have gotten a 99 if I didn't redo the sign! It was worth the points, because I think it would have been an IP (incorrectly performed) which I believe is an NQ.

Oh wow, wow, wow! What a great run, and only ~6 months?! BIG congrats! So excited to see where he takes you - it's so great when they love what they're doing and want to please!

Went to a trial and earned our 2nd Rally Novice leg :) I was alone, and the photograher at the show was lovely, and got a video for me! She is a dobie mom:hearteyes:. We got a perfect score! You can see after our down, that the leash got in between his legs....didn't bother him a bit!!! There were 4 other 100's so we didn't place, but I was so very proud of him at his second time out!

Very nice and you can't beat 100. Even though they go by time for ties, I'd rather take my time and get it just right, rather than hurrying and messing something up to lose points.

I am so thankful for the suggestions of K9 Ballistics crate mat. Falcon started out in a crate with pillows and blankets, and was real good until he wasn't  So out came the stuff, and he was left with sheets...till he started to eat them :woot2:. Then he was just laying on the Primo pad, and of course I felt bad....even though I 'know' he could care less...I was putting my own emotions into it....9 months old today, and STILL in a crate when we are out, and at night. My K9 Ballistics pad came yesterday, and now he has a comfy indestructable beddie . Don't have a photo yet, but here is the progress.IMG_3404.webpIMG_3903.webpIMG_4350.webp

Oh goodness Elroy is going on 2 and they're still crated if we leave the house. I think if one was out individually when we were out they'd be fine but when they're both out, they'll put their minds together to see how much they can get into when we're not looking. LOL
