Did our vet crop our puppies ears too short?

This looks like a poor job with too much tape. But he shakes out every one of his post no matter how deep they go. The adhesive tape is over the paper tape and never touches skin. I had the wrap around his neck like a chin strap.

I'd try to get a different kind of tape since the paper tape doesn't hold very well.

Kendall or Zona’s tape is the best to use. It’s breathable tape and sticks well when back wrapped. Be sure to push the post in the ear as deeply as you can while pulling up on the ear. I also used Torbuts skin adhesive and bought the unisolv to remove the tape and glue from the ear. This way the ear is not irritated in the attempt to remove the tape from it.
I wouldn’t use the head cone since it may push the ears forward.
