Backyard Birds

Aww it's great you're giving him such a chance when he does have the will to live.
The little guy is with them now.
Apparently he’s not alone. The rescue people told her they’ve seen an uptic in sparrows with deformed legs.
The joint just above the foot. It’s rocked under, and his actual foot seems to have little or no feeling.
So, the Ivar name is more appropriate than ever! ;)
I believe the daughter was going to visit Sesame (her name for him:rolleyes:) as she was at work when it all went down yesterday.
She’s missing the little shit. :D

Orioles?

Lately, I’m seeing a yellow oriole in the area.

Is a horrible picture I know.
These are something new around here, been living here a while now.
Last year and a half or so a brief spotting of a yellow bird.
Now, it’s almost daily.

The local mockingjays apparently think he’s a real asshole, because they sure return the sentiment. :D

Wow that surprises me. We see them for a few weeks every spring but I assume they fly farther north when they leave here.
This is one that was here in May.

A few new ones.

I was just taking a photo of the hanging basket and didn't realize there was a Flicker at the feeder until later.

And a Bluejay in the flowers yesterday. They are pretty, but as most of you know, they are my least favorite bird for many reasons.

It never fails, every year the Robins come back and every year we get a heavy snow after they get here.
I think we got a snowfall after our Robins were here too. I'm sure they were like, :wideyed: :wtf: Yours are really early since you still have so much on the ground. Forget what is still coming out of the sky! lol Ours are digging around in our mulch. I don't know what yours are eating with 2' of snow on the ground. If it's that suet, ours is hung high to just get the birds and not the squirrels and I know robins would never cling to it like the woodpeckers and smaller birds. Maybe they are pecking at some of the suet that falls to the ground? IDK.

This one (or more) has been eating right out of the suet feeder. I also put things like jam or cranberries out and they will eat those. Amazingly the squirrels don't bother the suet but they bears will and make a mess.

A few of the summer birds have been showing back up for a month or so now.

The pine grosbeaks split the scene and the evening grosbeaks took their place.

Another reason spring is my favorite season. The summer birds seem to be more colorful and prettier songs.
I say that but for the last month or so we've had a fish crow hanging around and that caw is ruining my morning coffee on the deck.

I kind of forgot we had this thread just for birds.
Ok, I have a collection from this Spring!

My little Wren. I put that birdhouse out and I'd say within 3 days I had a visitor. Or should I say a renter. 😉20260419_112650.webp
He looks pissed off here! 🤣

And she is feisty! Can you see her on the left tree trunk talking back to the wood pecker? She's chased birds 3 times her teeny teeny size! 🤣
