Could you convince them to stay there for the summer? And then a couple of @JanS favorite came to crash the party.

It's so funny because my daughter hates when they wake her up when she comes to visit! And sometimes it's only one! I barely hear it. It's like White Noise. I don't notice it all the time. But there was this one Jay that would come down to the bird bath. But before he did, he would stay in the tree and just squawk! On and on for a minute and then finally come down to take a drink. And then he'd fly away! She would come down and tell me how that bird was squawking. So then I took note of it and we'd watch as he did that! Just one lone Jay, sitting in the tree, squawking his head off and then go for a drink and leave. Unbelievable. I don't know if he was trying to scare everybody away or tell everybody he was there! But he was loud so close to the house.Could you convince them to stay there for the summer?![]()

Oh, I missed these pictures! What a gorgeous little bird! The Snow Bunting came back this year, and I got some better pictures![]()

Over winter, I seldom put out seed. Just the suet. But, like you, I'm thinking that's all I'm going to feed. It DOES bring in the woodpeckers! And Nuthatch, Chickadees, and other cuties! What they drop, they others can have.@MyBuddy ... I switched last year to feeding only peanuts...I get Woodpeckers, Cardinals, and all kinds of very small birds from Nuthatches to Yellow/Gold Finch... I have six feeders and only use 15lbs per month...The sparrows get lunch across the street now....they eat too much seed....

Aren't they gorgeous? We had never seen one around here until last year either and it hung around coming to the suet for about a month, then moved on. I hope it comes back and brings a spouse along this year too.In fact, I'm not even sure if I've ever seen one of these in my life! If I did, it may be been a long time ago (in my last home) or it was just a fleeting sighting. Similar to what I saw TWICE today! I was walking by my kitchen door when I startled it and all I saw a brilliant flash of white and red!!! I was SO excited, knowing that I was getting a fleeting glance at a bird that I didn't think I've ever seen before.

Oh, I was so excited! I hope it sticks around but mine might leave too.Aren't they gorgeous? We had never seen one around here until last year either and it hung around coming to the suet for about a month, then moved on. I hope it comes back and brings a spouse along this year too.![]()

Awesome!! I had one come close too and its interesting how fast the rest scatter! lolTerrible photo but I caught this hawk in a tree near the deck a week or so ago. Of course all of the other birds and plethora of squirrels left immediately and I only got one poor photo before it took off.

Oh wow...beautiful!!
Oooooh, I love these! First time I saw one I thought I was seeing things! That was back at our old house. One of my neighbors explain to me what bird it was and I was absolutely thrilled. When we moved here, they were even more prevalent! I couldn't believe it. I thought I saw one about a month ago when I saw a flash of blue but I believe it may have also been the blue bird. Another bird that is very pretty and one I never saw it until I moved from the suburbs to our last home. Seems like the further out into the country you get, the more interesting birds you find LOL
