I'm hoping it's going to gain enough strength today to just take off?
He's close.
I'm thinking he's a little weak from lack of meals yesterday. He ate but I'm sure not like he would have in the comfort of the nest.
As I suspected mamma and daddy were sitting on the fence this morning.
I set him up on the little house and they were feeding him before I got all the way inside.
I have to go sort out some things at work today so, they're going to be in their own. Nature takes it from here.
I just need to figure a way to block Rocky from that corner of the yard. I'm thinking port a pen wall.
Isn't that something ? I've seen that here too! They look so odd. I know they are molting but boy, uglyyy.
About a month ago I saw a bird near our woods that I've never seen before!! I couldn't get a picture and I barely remember now what it looked like. But it was very colorful with a little red, white and I think black. It was smaller than a robin and I think it had a longish tail.
I was so shocked to see a bird that I've never seen before. I know almost all the birds out here. Even if I don't know their name, I know I've seen them before. But this one was so unique and so beautiful! I was so excited that it was something I've never seen before. I would love to try and find it again. I know there's probably a few birds out in the woods that rarely come out in the open. I should take some binoculars and sit out there LOL I hope I see this one again.

Yes there are and I hear them all the time but never see them. Of course you need to add a camera along with those binoculars.
I thought they were kidding when they said there were no birds here in this part of GA, but I haven't seen a single one since I got here, aside from a couple geese today. That makes for a boring environment...
Really?? Wow, I would think there are birds everywhere!
That's what they were saying in training today. We're right next to the ocean and there are millions of sea gulls and other birds off campus but none on. They said maybe that's because they serve "chicken" so often here. LOL
He spent the night outside last night.
This is him (or her?) after I got home from work today.
Looking much more alert today and must have more energy.
This morning he started out on the same branch he spent the night on. The lower one with the white chain.
His mamma sat on that one just above the one with the chain.
After I came home he's a couple branches higher.
Is a good sign to me. Hopefully he can survive the next day or three or? Seems like he's right there. Must be building strength if he got himself up higher.
I have to report now that I don't know where he is?
I can only hope he figured out his wings.
Neighbors in all directions have little terrorist dogs.
I can only guess that's the case. I know when that happens to me it's usually because they did figure out where to go and what to do.

Just a reminder..... cool weather is rough on the birds too....I have a high end bird store by my with all kinds of stuff...but most important they offer info all year round to birders....so here's a tip!
Make sure you have a peanut feeder on your pole in the winter....first of all peanuts have lots of Protein...good for cold weather...and secondly you'll get lots of birds....especially small ones....I have two feeders with peanuts and there's a waiting line today!

Wow, talk about a partridge in a pear tree LOL that IS a lot mourning doves! Idon't know if I've ever seen that many grouped in the tree like that either. Very cool!The doves are getting ready to descend from the bare tamarack tree to feed on my offerings
Oh my! That is a beautiful bird! Looks like some kind of parakeet or something. Lol Just beautiful coloring! We have grosbeaks here, but not that color. So beautiful.
I usually have at least two suet feeders out there and they are on them all the time. In fact, I just put one out there again and within 10 minutes, there was a Visitor!

Thanks Jan. The little guy wasn't at all skittish, I was able to get quite close to the patio door and get some shots. I think it's a male anyway... They are supposed to have more white than the females.
