Anyone use the SportDog Yardtrainer 100s??

I recommend e collar technologies or garmin over sport dog. I had a sport dog and ended up replacing it a few months later.

I have the Sport Dog and recently contacted them with a concern I had. My original purchase was the 425S for stubborn dogs. I was finding the #2 setting was not always enough and #3 would be to much. When I called customer service they were very nice and explained the S model had two levels medium and high 1 thru 7 where as the standard 425 is low and medium 1 thru 7. They sent me a standard model and so far it seems to be working better. I'm using it on the low range on a #5 setting. I've not had any experience with the other brands of e collars so I can't make a comparison. I really try and use the e collar as little as possible. I mainly like having it on because I feel like it's security if I need it.

that’s the thing I didn’t like about it, the lack of fine tuning. The reason I like the e collar tech and garmin more is because if the fine tuning. I can adjust the stimulation from 00-110 with the simple scroll of a wheel. Makes on the fly corrections easier and I don’t give corrections at the same level for everything.

sloppy placement on a command is 5-15. Not listening to me 25-40. Breaking out of command 50-60. Then sometimes I have to crank it up to 100+ when he doesn’t mind me at all in example he’ll smell a female in heat, female mark, etc.


I also like that you can pair 3 receivers to the same remote and customize every button on the remote.

Thanks.....I'd never used an e collar until a couple of years ago.....didn't know a thing about them..trusted the guy at the pet store ( owner of the store to boot) and not sure he knew what he was talking about when he talked me into the one he sold me. Won't make that mistake again.
