My heart breaks for Z’s owner.. nobody’s dog deserves to die like that, not in front of their owner. The fact that he resorted to shooting the dog so quickly is disturbing. Poor judgment call. Both parties are at fault but Z didn’t have to die a senseless death, that much is clear.

Luckily they’re not making us pay for the second ultrasound - thank goodness, it was a little under $500!

The vet suggested neutering him but we don’t want to do it unless it’s medically necessary. He’s almost 2 so we could have him get neutered.. we’re still weighing our pros and cons.

UPDATE: We just got off the phone with the vet and Vinci has BPH - benign prostatic hyperplasia aka enlarged prostate. Phew! The vet also informed us that his ultrasound only showed 1 kidney?! They think it was an error so Vinci’s scheduled for another ultrasound later this week. They shaved...

I will absolutely post an update after his ultrasound. I just hope it’s benign and nothing serious.

Vinci takes fish oil pills + glucosamine (powder) + taurine (powder) + turmeric (powder). The powders mix well in with honest kitchens dehydrated meal and I top it off with fish oil pills.

Vinci was on Acana up until ~6 months and then we switched him over to honest kitchen and he’s still on it (he just turned 1).

Thanks everyone for your input! Wanted to provide an update - Vinci LOVED his steak! We let him have half the steak raw and with the other half, we grilled it medium rare for his dinner. He didn’t have any tummy issues, in fact, his stool was perfect LOL

Looking for some advice. We just bought this steak to give our boy, he’s turning 1 tomorrow. He’s never had raw bones before so I just don’t know what to expect. It’s a pretty big steak so I don’t think he’ll be able to finish it all.. but anyway, is it safe to just let him chomp on it?
