Muscle!

The discussion in Let's Run! thread prompted me to share these screenshots of my dog taking off on a send out. I'll get the video on YouTube later so you can see what we were doing, but I have to say Asha has the kind of muscle and power in her rear end that is what should be strived for in this breed. :dobe: 😍

She looks great and very impressive muscles on that girl! I’ve been working on Peppers development, like you said striving for it.

Not anywhere close to Asha’s muscle composition, but I was happy to see Peppers back end getting more defined. I’ve been taking her to sprint each day and jumping on command. Hoping she’ll continue to develop more. Her front has become more defined too really neat to see her maturing physically.

I thought I posted this hike on a thread, but can't find it now, so maybe I didn't. A few weeks ago I did my longest hike on a trail I knew would be inclines & declines. I was pooped when I got back, but when I looked at my phone info I literally laughed out loud.

Well, when you think about it, 40 floors in 4 hours is kinda spread out. And honestly, no so much steep as never-ending long inclines. I want to do it again, but it's hard to plan since it takes half a day to devote to it. And the other half of the day I'm worthless, so yeah, a whole day. That 2-track road went to the bottom of where those hills bottoms are. Then of course, back up to make my loop.

I don’t know if you can really tell from these pictures, but Remy has some big ole thighs. 😂 Definitely the most substance out of dogs we show against. IMG_1763.webp
(Show people told me he was too thin here 🤷‍♀️)
IMG_1764.webp IMG_1765.webpThese were all a few months ago so he probably looks even better now.

Seriously? He looks perfect to me.
That’s what I think/thought. There’s been 3 occasions now where Doberman handlers (a pro and two owners) have told me he “could gain a pound or two”. He looks more “rib-y” when you view him from behind than he does from the side, so I wonder if they just think he needs more rib coverage? His build can make him look heavier than he is, so any extra weight just makes him look a little chubby lol.

Every time I see Remy in your show ring pictures, I think to myself "he's definitely the most fit of all those dogs!" I love those videos when you're behind him on the bike! LOL, way back in the day there was a home-exercise workout video series called Buns of Steel. Shoulda used that as the title

That's the way it is with Elroy too but I guess it does make sense when they're related. I will keep him right were he is now since he looks good to me and we know our dogs better than they do.

Wow what an amazing place you get to hike!!! Absolutely beautiful.

I am always a bit leery of taking things to heart that I hear from other competitors at a dog show, at least in conformation. I seem to have this thought that of course they would want me to take their advice, it might really help them if I do.

Anyways, Zastava moves so fast, and I will try to get better pics, but I got this one for now.

This is funny to me, because my dog is heavier than I want right now, and when I sent a picture to his breeders (both conformation people) they both said he was at a great weight! I was looking at him from a sport perspective, thinking “dude, you’re getting chonky.” IMG_0459.webp

Here’s some that show off his muscle!
