Several days ago Annie came in the house licking her front leg. When I went to investigate I saw a nice gash!

I've seen her run through the woods, not on the path, but through the brush and figured she got jabbed by something! I have seen her do that before and worried about that very thing. She is such a runner! She flies around here!
I cleaned it, soaked with Vashe and tried bandaging it.

Nothing lasted very long. In fact sometimes it was only minutes. I even ordered a inflatable cone which she didn't seem to mind and it worked fairly well. Till one day I saw her scratching at it with a hind leg!
Reaching it quite well and just scratching the bandage off.

So I've been in contact with Dr. Don! Yes. @Ddski5 He has been a wealth of information to me not only for this but on a number of other health issues.
Bless you!
Some of you may remember he posted his own thread on an injury that looks almost exactly like Annie's!
Taking his advice, we shaved the area to help with some of the bandaging. He even steered me in the right direction on a purchase of a shaver! I didn't own one!
So my husband and I carefully shaved the area as best we could. Then cleaned it, used the Vashe again and applied antibacterial ointment and bandaged again. Still we were having trouble keeping the bandage on.
It's in a terrible spot for wrapping. Just above the elbow and with every movement it seems to dislodge the bandage.

When Don suggested a shirt, I forfeited one of my thin long sleeve shirts. This was last night. Looks good, right?

When I let her out of the crate in the morning, she was naked!
Somehow she got out of that shirt! Sigh. So back to square one again.
I went through the motions of taking care of the wound again and then put on her inflatable cone. So far so good. But this is going to be a long recovery I'm afraid. Not so much for her as for me. LOL She acts like nothing happened! Never limping, never crying in pain and still runs like an idiot. Which I do have to keep under wraps now to help keep the bandage on.
Only when I'm actually touching it is she jumpy. It took two of us to do the Shaving and caring for the wound last night. I'll be checking it out later by myself.. probably with lots of treats! Later I'm going to be looking for another shirt to Forfeit. Anything for my girl.

So I am in my shop working on my old car and like always Ragnar and Freyja are in the yard running around like Mustangs in the wild. I really need to get video of this because they run so fast and hard, they sound like horses running. They have no nails so when they run straight line towards the picket fence, Freyja has actually busted 4-8ft pickets off posted 4x4s. Crazy to see her hit it that hard, roll and get up chasing Ragnar, it only makes her angry.
Anyways, I am sitting in my shop and Freyja comes in and lays down and I see a little pool of blood seeping down the...

She's like what? you don't trust me?

I thought it looks kind of nasty. Still like a gaping wound.
