Pepper will be spayed on May 7. New vet said she’s not worried about the VWd as she’ll be very cautious, but with her numbers and being a carrier she’s not worried.

No, I am not can’t find anyone that offers it around here. So weird. The one I did find offered it for a couple extra thousand.
She's doing good actually. Hasn't kept her down at all. I already bought the inflated collar/ cone and I'm sure I'll be using that for her spay too. Got to watch those back Paws scratching though. She was able to get to her cut
and I wonder if she can get to the spay incision too. 
Yes, when I was getting Freyja spayed, having the stomach tacked cost 2k more…In which I did not elect to do.
Olive's is set for May 15 and the vet is doing the tack at the same time.
I agree that keeping them from tearing around or jumping is the hardest part but I've never needed the cone since they pretty much leave it alone. If anything, the other dog wants to lick it for them so the cone doesn't do any good anyway.
Some people use the Surgery suits, but I'm a bit skeptical since I'm not sure if the incisions should be covered.
It's amazing that it's that much more money. I mean they're in there already. When we had our consultation I didn't even ask him on a price because I knew it was a long way off and that it would change. Now I'm wondering.
Me too since I figured it wouldn't be that much extra when they're already in there. I have both the tack and OFA thyroid testing added on so it will be interesting to see what the bill is.
I have only seen one used once, after Karen's (Katyusha's sister) surgery to remove a monster of a mass. Her owner was a fan. Karen also came to work with her mom, where 3 vets would have seen it to voice concern. I've never used one myself, but based on that experience with my friend and her Dobie, I would be inclined to use one if I have an applicable surgery. Just for what it's worth. Of course I would still ask my vet first for our particular case.
I think those look like good ideas. I know my dog is obsessed with licking anything that "ain't right", like a little skinned place or where I pulled cactus out, ANYwhere there is a minor scratch, she just wants to lick it constantly. So I've been thinking about a suit if/when I get her spayed.

Wanted to share our recent trip and how well Pepper did! We explored new towns, hiked, saw awesome waterfalls, and met doggies. I’m really proud of her and how well she did. My husband kept saying this trip is for Pepper haha. She was super happy and very easy going. She was off leash at our place and kept a boundary on her own. We are on 32 acres and she seemed to know what was her safe limit. Here’s a few photos out of the 1 million I took.
