Throw Back Thursday

A couple more of Dietrich, sometime mid-1990's

New kittens, Popcorn & Peanut. She would carry them around by the head. First time I saw it, I thought it was dead (they went limp when she'd pick them up). She only did it while they were still tiny. The other picture has that cigar look like @obbanner posted. I don't think they had bully sticks back then, so probably a rawhide stick. fullsizeoutput_5c2.webpfullsizeoutput_5c8.webp

My first boy, Magnum. He used to ride everywhere on the back of this Harley in a plastic crate I attached back there where the passenger seat of the bike used to be. I attached it with threaded rod bent into shape – oh, and hose clamps. A hard-cover textbook was between the rear fender and the crate.

On this day, I happened to look down and notice my odometer was just about to click over to 40,000 miles. All but 14 of those were put on this bike by me. How fortuitous that I happened to have my Polaroid on board. I captured the odometer with a 0.0 !! This was a roadside park area not far from where I was living.

A once in a lifetime coming together of factors, and a great memory.

And onto our last Pomeranian. Tiki. She lived 18 years! She actually got to move here when we first arrived. I have to think back the actual year she died but at one point I had all three of our animals here. Our Doberman, our Pomeranian, and our cat, Alex, aka Alley Cat. We found him as a tiny kitten down in a window well in the last house. "Let's just show the kids" turned into a lifetime of about 18 years with him too! He was a great cat.

In honor of @jazzies mum pictures of Jazz camping...

The only time Tobie went camping (7 years ago) was quite an experience for him! He was happy to hang out and go for walks around the campsite during the day but as soon as the sun went down, he retired to his tent :D

When the sun was out, all was well.

Deciding if he's ready to get up in the Morning (he probably decided against it, ultimately )

Another cat found us! We found this one again as a kitten right out front of our first home. She was very feral but she soon warmed to us and was an adorable kitty! I loved her! We were in the middle of selling our home when we found her. We were going to build our next home so we moved temporarily to a rental house. Unexpectedly, I had to have surgery for a ruptured cyst on an ovary! Of course, when Mom's away, all hell breaks loose. Someone left the door open she got out and we lost her! I was so angry! I knew if she got out she wouldn't know the new neighborhood and would be lost. And she was. :( When I came home I could barely walk but I went around looking for her and never found her. Heartbreaking.

Her name was Smokey.

How old was she when she died? Do they live long?
Oh, that makes more sense! I thought that post was from MyBuddy, and I'm thinking that doesn't look a lot like her! Jan, yes, I can see that's her. The St. Bernard is just gorgeous by the way!

Since they're a giant breed they don't have a long life expectancy. Unfortunately I don't know how long she lived since my dumb ass ex decided she was too big and we had to rehome her. One of the many reasons he's an ex. ;)
