Switched from car to SUV, what a difference !

With the anticipation of getting a second dobie the end of July we decided to change vehicles. Preacher has always ridden in the backseat hooked to a safety chain. He has always been somewhat of a problem with this system. I recently sold my Ford Ranger and old Toyota Camry. We decided once those were gone we would by a Honda CR V. Took delivery a week ago of a new 2020 model. Our trainer said he thought Preacher would do better riding in a kennel. Was he ever right, like night and day difference ! Preacher has really settled down and its been a pleasure this last week having him ride with me. I installed his new 37 inch kennel directly behind the driver and passenger seats. He gains access by using the drivers side backdoor. The second kennel will be butted up against the first kennel and access will be gained by using the tailgate.

That's what we did to haul two dogs: 2006 Honda Odyssey one kennel access to the sliding side door, the other to the back hatch door.

Totally agree with the suv my wife and I have a Subaru Forester and it’s great to haul dogs around in. Congratulations on the new vehicle!

We are bursting at the seams when we road trip with both dogs in my 2009 edge but... I love not having a car payment so she will be driven into the ground before we get something bigger.

Congratulations! You're going to love it and I've had nothing but SUV's for close to 20 years. Well we also have 2 trucks but I drive the SUV.

I owned only 1 standard sedan like car... the first one I ever bought. It was a Chevy Camaro/Berlinetta. I didn't want the Z28. Since then, I've been an SUV kinda guy. I like the height it gives. Much easier to get in / out of, and it stores all my dive gear.

BTW @MyBuddy that first Camaro/Berlinetta I bought was from Celozzi-Eddelson Chevrolet, if you get the reference.

Congrats! I still have a sedan and I am just itching to upgrade to an SUV - I have a little travel crate shoved in the back seat but still not enough space LOL

When I picked it up a week ago it had 7 miles on it. I drove it 400 miles since I picked it up and I love it ! I did a lot of research before I made my decision. Couldn't be to long because of our garage size. We usually buy our vehicles new and keep them a long time. I had it narrowed down to Toyota, Nissan or Honda. I really thought I was going to buy a Nissan Rouge until I drove the Honda CR V. I am completely satisfied and the windows will be getting tinted on the 22nd. Preacher seems to like it, glad to get him out of the backseat of the old Camry.

Same here since we don't like the unknowns of what a prior owner has or hasn't done with them.

Glad Preacher has taken to it and loves it. Much safer for everyone and keeps him more comfortable on long rides.
