There were two of them but I don’t think I captured both in either image. One was up in the brush, the one I did get a pic of was coming down the hill and into the road saw my truck and went back up.
I never would have noticed them had that one not been crossing the road.
Sort of strange as we haven’t had much coyote action lately since the construction of the new track started.

I am strange. Can cope with snakes, spiders, wild pigs, emus, big male kangaroos and bulls without losing too much poise.......................but if I get a leach on me it's a full body panic station!!! Anything that is leach like is not on my list of good things either! A few nights ago I noticed the sound of rustling and munching going on out at the gum tree. Quite distinct and with the patter of falling matter as well. We don't have Koalas here so I though a small marsupial was getting a feed, but Jazz wasn't reacting at all?!? 
When I noticed the whole centre of the tree was eaten out I went for a closer look.............and saw these little buggers, thousands of them! I do hope they finish their life cycle before they run out of food and come on the march looking for more.
If they do they'll be EVERYWHERE!
And the falling matter? Heaps and heaps of grub

Wow, they are doing a lot damage. They look similar to our caterpillars. We have a ton of different ones. I wouldn't want them crawling on me either! 
I'm really not a bug person. I love the outdoors. Just don't let a bug climb ON me! Then I'm outta here!

Ticks are horrible little a**holes.
I hate snakes more than anything.
But having to pee in Morse code because of a terrible location of a tick bite... I’ll deal with the snake.

I have been up since 2:30 this morning. Not sure exactly why but coyotes are out of control. It's mating season and they are howling along with some other weird noise I don't even think there is a word for.
There are warnings to take your dog out on a leash yet people are still just turning them out in the backyard. There have been 3 little dogs in my area killed in the last week.
The municipality I live in is calling a special meeting to talk about how to control the overpopulation. Protestors are already lining up because they don't want anyone to kill them. Little do they know there is pretty much an open season on coyotes.

Speaking of gun... The dogs were barking wildly out the driveway side of the house. When Kali ran to the front window, I followed her to see what the hell it was. What I saw look like a cat, but I knew that was no cat. It was moving just like a possum. I ran and got my gun and shoes and ran outside to look for it. He went into the woods, but I found him! We were ten feet away from each other and I would have had a perfect shot.....If my neighbor's house wasn't right in line! 
Dammit! I pointed my gun at him and swore. Then I threw a stick at him. 
He was through the woods and almost onto my neighbor's property. I couldn't make it through the brush and it wouldn't do me any good anyway. I was just not in a good position to fire. He actually climbed up a small tree and sat there like he was going to go play possum. That's what I was hoping for when I went out there! I figured if I antagonized him enough and he laid down to play possum, I would shoot him right there into the ground. Oh, well, maybe next time. But what the hell is he doing out in the daylight?

I was out at the horse barn feeding the horses when I saw what looked like a hawk flying by. I love the big birds! Love them! So I stopped to watch a sec. And then I realized that I was watching a bald eagle! I could see the white head! I'm almost positive it was a bald eagle. If anybody else can tell, let me know! But I was just so excited to see that!

I was standing in our sun room, looking out the window when I caught a glimpse in my peripheral vision of a large bird heading my way. Our house is situated on the highest point of our 10 acres. We have a great view of the back property. When I caught a glimpse of this bird, it only took nanoseconds to realize it was going to pass at eye level in front of me. Seeing that I love these birds of prey, I figured I'd stand there and watch it go by. Again, nanoseconds later, I see the white head! My mouth dropped and I stood there watching it fly by in awe! Afterwards I was a jumbled mess of, oh my God I just saw a bald eagle, oh my God I just saw a bald eagle! Oh my God oh my God! LOL I couldn't wait to tell someone! lol It was the first time I'd ever seen a bald eagle upfront and personal! I didn't even know they were in this area!

After I come in the house, I look out the window and see this guy at our suet feeders. He's here a lot and I always enjoy seeing him, along with the downy woodpecker.
So I take a picture.

I step outside and there he is on the top of my chimney, knock, knock, knock, knock.
Go away! 
I text my husband immediately and tell him we need to put the wind chime back up! We have had a wind chime up for years. One day he took it down to fix it and we had woodpeckers pecking on our chimney! We put the wind chime back up, and they were gone. Go figure. We never knew that it was actually keeping them away. We just liked the wind chime!
Well, we took it down one very windy day months ago. We need to put it back up! Actually I might be able to do it myself today. This spring we are replacing all the cedar siding going up our chimney! They tore it apart last time the wind chime was down! OMG they just destroyed it. I wanted to do it last year but between staining the whole house and building the Gazebo, we didn't get to it. But this year it's the first project on the list. And then, dammit, they better leave it alone! I don't care if I have to put two more wind chimes out there!
So I take a picture.

People don’t understand that if Pelicans see something shiny they think it’s a fish and will grab it. This includes your cell phone. Put a matte case on your cell phones otherwise we are removing phones from Pelicans.

It's migration time for them so now is the time you'll have a better chance of seeing them. We have quite a few who over winter here but some do go south a bit.
It's about time for them to start their breeding knocking/rapping so they'll knock on anything that sounds loud to attract the ladies. They come and knock on our stainless chimney every spring too since the sound really carries. LOL
Damn squirrels have really been prevalent this year! They're setting off my cameras, setting off my dogs and just being a freaking nuisance! A little while ago the dogs were both barking like crazy! I could tell there was something out there; something close. I look out the window and see this!
