Treat recommendations for “turn around” activity

Probably nothing. I was just thinking of someone I know who said her dog could only eat cooked burger meat and chicken and hated the radio. Some people are goofy with saying their dogs wont/dont do things. And I cant believe some of the stuff they push about dog food online. Good luck.

I don’t see how that’s goofy. There’s plenty of things my dog won’t/don’t do. She doesn’t eat at the dining table, she won’t hold a conversation with me, etc. I would go on but I think you get the point.

Or you didnt get the point of how those actions are goofy. Simply projections of the owner. Like making their dog scared in different environments, around kids, around loud noises. Its the owners fault 99% of the time for how their dogs act. Good luck. Use food and play as a treat. Treats are whatever you want, chicken, rice balls. Go to the pet store and let her look. Good luck.

I just don’t understand where you are coming from. Why are you telling me this? I said the food doesn’t interest her as much. That’s not a projection, it’s an observation. I watch her play and I observed that when there is dog food in it she’s not as interested. She get distracted more easily. But maybe I should get an controlled environment with different variables and put it on an excel spreadsheet to show you..

I just explained why I had said what I said and that it probably wasnt the case. But your defensiveness implies thats whats happening.

She’s 1 she’ll be two in the coming year. I’ve read that she should eat puppy food until two. Believe me I’ve tried switching her from what the breeder gave me (science diet) but she has such a sensitive stomach. I’ve tried slowly switching her food but still horrible diarrhea.
Most members here would tell you to go to an all stage food and get off the puppy food. Even at a young age. But at 2 years old I would think she should certainly be off puppy food. And sometimes it takes a while and several different foods to hit on that one that works for your dog. There are a lot of threads on here about diet change and diarrhea. I can't say it's an easy task. And some dogs are more sensitive than others. What is her stool like now?

As far as that treat dispenser, I would put anything that fits in there! There are a lot of good ideas here. Even putting her own kibble in there, mixed with other treats. I know I'm always trying to feed tiny treats as a reward because I don't want to over feed my dogs. Especially my little one. So I know there are tiny treats out there that would fit in there.

Those holes look much easier to work with than what the first photo showed. Your options at a bit more broad now. Id still do kibble, however you can always boil chicken breast and cut it up into cubes. Mix it with kibble. Healthy and enticing. Some people even feed boiled chicken for normal meals.

You know what you’re right. The toy is boring and weird. But thank you & good luck to you.

No. The toy is not boring and weird. It is a good tool to exercise your dogs brain. Not sure what has skatchkeb all hot and bothered. Its good you are looking for things like this.

I wasnt hot and bothered. Hell I said kibble, chicken, rice balls. The toy could be used for some awesome stuff like counting, scent discrimination. Its a 2 year old dog tho so I dont think thats whats happening. I was more concerned with how it wont show interest in kibble if its the only thing she gets to eat. Dobermans should have to work for kibble. If youre giving it treats all the time of course it doesnt care about its food. And I gave suggestions.
