we feed arcana and I wanna change now. I have trouble where I’m living right now I’m Canada to find a good quality food that has grains every pet store I visit it’s always grain free this grain free that. His stool is always inconsistent as well so that’s another reason I wanna switch it up cause it may just not be doing well with him.

Yes I seen this and that’s also why we were thinking of switching our vet told us to find a kibble that doesn’t have peas legumes or lentils in the first 5 ingredients I also heard of the salt divider and anything after salt in the ingredients is very little less than 1%, we also tried shampoo and leave in conditioner the vet recommended I find it helps a little but not for long also I thought maybe it was just winter weather he gets dry but he’s been dry in the summer too, thanks for your help!

Yes he was on Acana Puppy Chicken from 5 months to a year and his poop would never be solid even tried pumpkin so once he hit a year we did Big Country Raw and he absolutely loved it but after a while that’s when the fur started falling out and he had bald patches and dandruff also poops were rock hard but we kept him on it for a whole year and they were just mixed kinds like beef, chicken, lamb, fish and pork then the vet gave us shampoo and leave in conditioner to try and it helped a little we also ended up getting a vizsla and he’s very picky so he was on the Acana Yorkshire pork and we decided to try our Toby on that it’s for sensitivities skin and allergies and they both were doing ok on it easier to have them both on kibble since the raw can get pricey and recently he wasn’t eating and ended up having surgery for gastrointestinal so our vet said if we wanted to switch the food we should do it now. Copper our vizsla slowly stopped eating it also he has a hard time as if he doesn’t eat his portion Toby would always be glad to take seconds. Anyways we decided to go with Purina Pro Plan Focus Adult it was between that and Nutro Ultra which we couldn’t find any stores near by our Vizsla is loving it so that’s a plus and we can’t ween our Doberman quite yet at he’s still on wet food from his surgery, thanks everyone for the feed backs!!Welcome from Minnesota!
Acana is a good food for sure but all dogs can react differently to different things. Have you tried other formulas? Sometimes there can be one ingredient that doesn't agree with them so it's best to narrow it down. It's time consuming for sure but usually worth it.
Thanks I have tried lake smelts and he wouldn’t even try it I even tried cutting them up when we did feed him raw and he would eat all the raw and leave the little bits of smelt at the bottom haha but I will for sure give sardines a try!
