Denali's first title

I'm so pleased for you guys! You so deserve this :congrats:

He's such a great looking boy, too. We definitely need to see more pics of this handsome fella!!

That is so awesome, congratulations! Yay!

I tried to set up a series of containers and hid a bit of pasta under one, I told him to "find it". Well he saw no reason to go for one puny piece and instead brought me to the entire plate of it placed quite some distance away on a high table, every time. Think I may have to reconsider my method hehe

Congrats! Where did you trial? I have two needing their NW1. Only drew one out of the three dogs I entered. Hope to have some more trials close soon

Not sure how I feel about AKC sentwork, but still going to give it a go

We trialed in Long Island NY. We tried back in February in NJ but missed containers. I had a better idea of what to expect this time around. If there is an ORT close by I will probably have him test for anise and clove.

You only did your ORT on birch? When we sat I did all 3 target odors. Wasn't sure when we could find another ORT close to us. I probably gambled a lot, but mine had been on all three odors for a while, so I figured why the heck not. hahaha. I was lucky.

It always helps to have perspective in trials. I know how much work goes into sitting for the NW1...proud of you guys! Can't wait to hear about your continued successes. No doubt you will gain your remaining ORTs.

It's fun to have someone to talk to about NW. Other than my friend I practice with, I don't know of anyone else who does it. Hope you don't mind if I nerd out with you :)

Great job and best of luck!!

Thanks! TBH it didn't even occur to me to try for all 3. At the time he had only trained on Birch. We had been training with teams that were going for NW2/3 the last 9 months or so. Our club might be hosting an ORT in the next few months. I really don't want to travel far for one. I should purchase the videos of our trial. I am interested to see our exterior search. It took him 2min 36 seconds to find it.

Congrats! We love Nosework. Richter has his NW1, L1C, L1I, L1V, L1E. He's trying for his NW2 in a few weeks. Sypha takes her ORTs next weekend.
