@MischasMomma I hope it works for you. I think the rocks might be okay once you figure out how to get it clean. A power where will certainly speed up the process.
Our coop is modular. You can take it apart pretty easy. We do it on a regular basis and power wash it, let it dry and put it back together. The "girls" sit out in the yard and watch us. When we are finished, they have to run back and give the coop a once over to verify our house cleaning skills. They are funny little creatures.

Awww, you look a bit sad in those and it made me tear up a bit. Its great that you found a nice place to take the roosters. They all have grown so fast and look so beautiful! Are you getting eggs everyday?

@MyBuddy it's funny, I was fine with sending them off and actually disappointed we had to push it back a day... but then when the time came, I was a bit sad. I stood by his coop just watching them for quite awhile, and found myself going back several times before we left!

No eggs yet, they're only 15 weeks but hopefully soon! Genny says anywhere between 16-20 weeks so hopefully within the next month! Hey, just in time for when @AresMyDobie comes to visit!!

That's an estimate, can be longer depending on the breed and the heat. I got my first egg from Lucy when she was 16 weeks and the rest followed with in a couple of days.
They will give you hints when your girls are ready...bright red waddles and combs , the egg stance ( she will lower her self when you come near her or pet her ( like a rooster who mounts a chicken. she is being sub servant. When mine really close, they got louder. Of course I did too.

I must say I'm impressed with tractor supply. My nesting box collapsed into the run today and I posted on their Facebook. The responded within half an hour giving me a number to call about a warranty- I expressed my concern that we spenthink extra money weatherizing it and adding hardware cloth, all of which is non reusable and I'm sure wouldn't be covered under warranty, plus the fact were afraid to replace with the same thing for fear it would happen again. They again urged me to call, saying they will do whatever they can to help!

So we added a new member to the flock today... our last silkie, Elsa, turns out is Elmer. So I got a silkie hen (I hope) from my ex husbands flock since he has a much bigger coop, he has a lot of birds and said I could have one. I was surprised at how quickly she settled in, they picked on her for a bit, so I sectioned part of the coop off with chicken wire and gave her her own food and water. When we went to check on them, apparently I didn't do it well, as the wire was down. We decided to see how they would do and took the wire out. No one bothered her one bit, and I just checked again and she is snuggled up with the rest of them in the nesting boxes. Here's hoping it stays that way! She a little girl too, I was worried.

I was taking some chicken pics last weekend and I was squatted down face to face with a rooster when the friend who owns them called me out and said to be careful because he's an asshole and will attack. LOL Sure enough it wasn't too long before he tried but I gave him the Cesar "chhhit" and he backed off.
He's pretty, even if he is mean.

Oh he is very pretty @JanS !! Lol I've learned most roosters are assholes haha I don't know that I've ever met a "nice" roo!

I have a friend who has a chicken that is always watching her, no matter where she is or what she's doing. Now the chicken is called "stalker chicken" and has her own instagram page.

So true, even when raised from babies, I did have one REALLY large one that was the most docile of ALL my chickens...I bought him grown at an auction (I thought he was a hen) he had no tail feathers, that through me off...His name was Betty, lol
