I am going to talk to this trainer this evening, but I'm not going to tell her the details about what I want until I see her in person!! (It's easier for me to say "no" over the phone than in person, and I want to convince her to let me do the day thing that was brought up here!) Anyway, since I haven't negotiated this little arrangement yet, I don't know what it will cost. I will let you know when I find out.
Oh Lord, I would do anything for my boy, but $4000 (or anything approaching that) is far too steep for me! (school teacher!) One good thing about living down here in the "sticks" in North Texas, is cost on these things is relatively low! We are heading over there tomorrow to work on a couple of things (dang leash biting when excited!) and to talk about what I want to do with his training from here on. I did see that there is a pretty good looking school about 45 minutes away where we could do classes on Saturdays. I might do that in addition to what I decide here just to continue his socialization with different dogs/people. He did that silly class at Petsmart, but that consisted of walking around the store and watching other dogs fight their humans/leashes. This school has a really large training facility with some obstacle courses, etc., and you work with different trainers and dogs on different skills during the courses. Forty five minutes probably sounds a little far, but from where I am, I pretty much have to drive a bit to get ANYWHERE worthwhile!...I mean dang, Starbucks is twenty minutes away!! In other "news," this touched my heart to the absolute core yesterday. I have a student (freshman boy) who has many, MANY special needs..."emotionally disturbed," "anger problems," etc., etc., etc. I hate these labels because teachers sometimes think they know a student prior to even working with him. When asked if it would be okay to have him in my "general education" class (instead of his isolated room for most of the day), I said it was absolutely okay, and I have never regretted that. I've not had a single problem with him until last week when he had an outburst (verbal only) because he was frustrated with a game we were playing. Since then, I have been able to tell he feels bad and sad about that "incident." Yesterday he couldn't even wait until his class period to come see me. He came in early to present this drawing to me. The happiness and pride he had in being able to do this for me were priceless. It made my day (week/month)! I know it's off topic, but I had to share....what a special, precious, good-hearted boy...in so many ways! After seeing my delight, he's gonna start working on a puppy drawing for me! He is also "researching" the breed and shares info/videos with me frequently!

I don't know how you do it by 'invitation only'. It must be confusing? I would think the times I say 'no bed' Buddy would sit there and whine like, "But (sad face) you let me yesterday??"
