What's your opinion on this (Pit Bulls)

Also because these dogs are at large they come home pregnant and there's the new generation of "cute puppies" at the Walmart parking lot for $20 and at the shelter 8 months later... this all begins & ends with an irresponsible human.
BTW, I got a first hand glimpse into the culture around breeding and Pits, at least in the city, when we were fostering a beautiful American Bulldog / Pit Bull female. 68 lbs of muscle, white and reverse brindle. One day taking her for a run we passed by a bus stop with a few guys hanging out. One of them excitedly called over to us "Dat what you call a Pit! Dat what you call a pit!" A fist bump ensued. A few other times as we were out running, I heard shouts of "You got any puppies?" and "You gonna breed her?"

I never really felt fully comfortable having this bully breed around my daughter, but I do in fact have an adorable picture of one thing they liked to do which was my daughter would read her books as she laid her head on the dog's side like a pillow.

She was really a great dog.The pain tolerance with nail trimming was notable. When we first drove her home from the shelter, we were fairly well astonished how she was a perfect angel in the car! I expected anxiety and chaos, but she just laid there in complete calmness. Oh, and you could switch her foods cold turkey and her stools remained firm!

I've personally known several and they were all great dogs. They all had great owners too. One was a vet clinic owned dog back in the '80's named Miss Pit. She lived at the clinic in a kennel with outdoor run and was a blood donor for that clinic and the surrounding vet clinics. I knew her before I got my first Doberman and seriously considered getting a pit like her. She was big but slim, similar type to a Dobe, just the classic pit head, she was clean, happy, social with vet clients and other dogs.

One of our dog show friends has had quite a few of them who were all nice and well behaved. They can really do a good job with weight pull too.

My father in law lost his wife this winter, and a month later his dog. The poor dog was a horrible little poodle something with a skin disease and an unceasing bark. He repeatedly tried to bite everyone he met. In any event, my father in law called to say he stopped at the Humane Society a few weeks ago “just to look” and came out with a gray and white Pit of some type. He is absolutely lovely in personality. His only fault is tying my 87 yr old father in law up in the leash and pulling like a mule on walks. His name is Buddy. Sasha has zero tolerance for him,and is the only dog she has ever noticed, let alone growled at.

That's awesome! Yeah, our bully breed pulled like crazy on leash – almost Doberman-level pulling.

So I've had my two bad run in's with the pitbull breed. I'm honestly not a fan, not a fan at all. So I'm a bit racist ( not the best of terms I know ) towards the breed. I know there are some on here that have had exceptional success, so if offended I'll apologize in advance. I just saw this on the news. Give your honest opinion.

Virginia woman killed in 'grisly mauling' by her dogs, cops say
A few words. I hate pit bulls. It's the fault of those who made the breed not the animals fault I imagine. But 2 bad experiences with so called " nice dogs" one killed a neighbors boy and the other killed 2 poodles it was raised with. I stay far away.
