What flea and tick prevention do you use besides heart worm medicine..

Does that work for humans too? I've been thinking of getting tested myself but I don't have the tick anymore. I had a deer tick stuck in 2023 but I was in between doctors so I couldn't get the standard treatment and now I have the symptoms of some sort of tick borne disease. I know this place wouldn't work for that one but it would be good to know for future reference.
Good ? @JanS
I've found a couple of the western blacklegged ticks on me in past year, less than 24 hrs, and another a year ago. Plenty on Bonnie but usually find them right away, and those I dont a day later seem half dead from the Symparica Trio...😉

So thanks @strykerdobe for the tip- might go ahead and test the tock itself just as a backup vs to Trust Teh Science, at the Urgent Care...

There is a link in the second of the three listed by @strykerdobe

That gives more info:

I went to urgent care twice, got the doxycycine and wonder about a third I missed, no tick but similar red spot- not the bullseye, no tick but not a spider bite which is more common when bushwhacking with dog...

So this is on my to-do list, too.
Just in case. For peace of mind if nothing else.
This getting old thing sux!
