His stomach is very very sensetive, has runny lose stool even after a treat!. He is 2 years 7 month old. What diet should i swich him to he is underweight too.
Wait, is this the same "1 yr 7 mo old" Archie you posted earlier about dog reactive on muzzle and biting your BF? How skinny is he? Showing ribs and backbone?
Double check what the rescue told you about vaccines, with written proof.
Back to basics.
See the vet NOW for CIV, Giardia and leptospirosis, get blood work for first annual physical.
Most common reason for young dog loose stools is overfeeding but if he is coming up on three you can start with a middle amount, per pkg instructions for MEDIUM dogs.
Most common allergies are chicken and/or too much cheap carbs. What was he eating at the rescue?
I'd buy the Costco salmon and rice formula.
Cheaper than and similar to Purina Sensitive Stomach.
Start with a cup and a half twice a day.
Add a tbsp or two of large curd cotttage cheese at night, mixed in. Pure pumpkin paste in a can (not pie filling) also works.
If he gobbles all that and isnt putting on weight, add 1/4 cup kibble each feed and see how he does.
No treats, except the same kibble, for food reward for the basic obedience you are going back to on puppy basics.
Start teaching him Nothing In Life is Free.
Make him SIT and wait while you put the bowl down, THEN release BREAK on command.
If he doesnt finish, put the bowl up until suppertime. Record how much he eats daily.
yes it is the same dog, appologies for the error he is 2 years 7 month old. after u said I noticed my mistake he is over 2 years old!
He was on Free spirit grain free diet tbh i have never heard of that brand and he came with almsot zero food. When I asked the volunteer she said there is some food in the bag but it is not what he was eating i just give it to u coz he ran out of what he used to have!
He is up to date with vaccines and all. Soon he needs to go for next round of vaccines.
He is very skinny and light to me, i dont see his bones but he is skinny. For sure he needs to eat more and he drinks whole bottle of water in a sec, i dont know whats the story behind that.
Grain free is a fad started by mistake by a study the fda released. Doesnt work on dobes as the substitute for protein lost in grain free to make up the minimum is cheap legumes, which in turn lacks taurine the dobes need for heart health.
Throw that leftover bag away.
Ask vet about extra water drinking.
Remind me again how long he's been with you? It could just be that his sensitive stomach is because he's still adjusting to a change in life.
I have never heard of that food either, but I can't say it's bad without seeing the ingredient list. We fed grain free for years with no issues but we have since switched to an ancient grains food and the dogs do well on that too.

My girl Pepper has an extremely sensitive stomach. Many vets, many vet visits, stool samples - have you had one done recently? Mention of EPI testing, but I don’t think that’s her issue and vet doesn’t either, because she is really healthy otherwise. Many days of loose stools and full on diarrhea. Her breeder doesn’t have any issues with her parents and isn’t aware of the littermates having issues. Vet is confident it’s IBD which is common with this breed.
Like others have said could be nerves, they’re sensitive dogs. Start with bland? And see what goes on with introduce his kibble back?
I use pumpkin puree daily for the fiber, she gets it 3x a day. Natures Farmacy pre and probitoics and complete vitamin mix.
Now I have her on Hills I/D digestion low fat kibble. Believe me I didn’t want to use Hills, but we’ve been through many kibbles and nothing works for her. This kibble she has been doing well on and like your guy, Archie she was skinny and lost weight. She’s gained and having solid stools. Still has random diarrhea episodes if she eats something off the ground.
I don’t feed her any treats at this point, maybe a small amount of fruit.
But I would get the stool sample, bland diet, probiotics, and then introduce kibble slowly. Like said above start with the basics. Keep notes of it and no treats at all until you get him having solid stools and weight gain.
