Well they have finally arrived!!

The puppies...she wasn't making milk and the dogs had to go within the week of being born? So did the pups go to their forever homes being just a week old?
.

Not sure on exact timeline but they were around 7 weeks, I know earlier than what is the norm. Think I may have had a typo up there somewhere... was still typing with vengeance!!

Edit: There was some weeks that went by between the puppies coming and her landlord finding out. Whoooops...kinda skipped that

Poor girl! I'm glad you found out about this and went to get her from that terrible situation.

I agree!! I was able to get the time off work and everything kind of played right out for it to happen. The Chicago traffic wasn't even that bad surprisingly, but I've been beating myself up about it since we found out. The wife keeps reminding me that it's not something anyone of us thought was even a possibility. However, still sucks she had to live through all of it. At least the worst of it is behind her..hopefully. Getting her full check up on Wednesday and praying for clean bill of health, with a script of lots of food and love!!

I wouldn’t beat yourself up over it, you mentioned the guy being on drugs so I think that played a large hand in how drastically his own life (and that of the ex) was impacted. She’s with you now and that’s all that matters.

Side note... Moxy's one ear is flopped and I'm assuming has been for some time. She is a little over 2 yrs old...guys think there is any hope?? Thought about just giving it a whirl but didn't want to put her through added stress if it would be pointless.

She can hold them both up when she wants...

Welcome. You have littermates. Raising littermates in this breed is never advised, in fact most if not all reputable breeders will not sell littermates because of this. They can have behavioral issues as a result of being raised together. Please research littermate syndrome and follow all advice on rearing. It’s a very real thing and I have seen first hand the issues that it can cause. Never let play escalate beyond normal play bc a fight can break out. This is especially true with littermates and will get worse with age. Please educate yourself on dog body language and know the tells your dogs throw before things go south. This can stop a fight before it happens. Sometimes its just a simple look. Littermates can be more apt to fight, even in opposite sex pairings, but is especially true in same sex pairings.

Cute puppies and I wish you the best with them.

I thank you for this. When we originally had them both as puppies I read a bunch from this site as well as things I researched myself. I totally agree it's a real thing and something I'm working to never have to witness first hand.

Vet visit went good for her. She thinks Mox may have some sort of skin mite. If her patches don't clear up she is going to want to see her back. However my wife and I both agree in just the 5 days we've had her back she looks tremendously better! Her bald spots appear to be growing back in nicely and she thankfully is adjusting to our dogs normal kibble excellent!

That's actually why the girl went to the friend a couple years ago after seeing a few issues. Things obviously changed with the friend so that's why she's back now.

If she can hold them both up sometimes it wouldn't hurt to try. They might come up some as she starts feeling better too.
