Ticks!

By mid hot summer I will be paranoid about going out without bug protection on, but mostly because of the chiggers. But I'm still not a big fan of ticks, but at least you can see them.

I didn't know what a chigger was or even exsisted till my fiancé was talking about them.. I looked at him like he was crazy person and he was confused on why I was giving him this look hahahahaha

Ugh!!! Chiggers :machinegun: There is nothing worse than a bug that will burrow under your skin. Blech!! I avoided trees that have moss like the plague growing up.

Chiggers were a part if life growing up in Tennessee. We used to put clear fingernail polish on the itchy area to smother them. But, to me, a tick is the most loathsome bug around Just disgusting, and dangerous too. Kill 'em all:machinegun:

They are both blood sucking vermin ;)

Hubby and I must be the only people on the planet who have no problem with ticks, aside from the diseases they can transmit. Like I said earlier, we don't even break stride in our conversation when we pull them off ourselves.

Wow. I'm thankful I've never dealt with chiggers!! I remember a friend's little brother got them on his lower legs in southeastern MN. I've seen here a mention of Kentucky and Tennessee. Shoot. I live near KY and there's a small chance we might move to TN. Guess it's good I don't hike as much here as other places I've lived.

Someone hubby sees at work said they went for a walk in the woods the other day and came back with their clothes covered in ticks, from head to toe. I guess it's time to get our guys started on the Nexgard.

I couldn't find the latest tick thread but boy they sure aren't going away this year. I pulled a stuck one off Elroy last week and today I pulled 2 really embedded ticks off hubby that he couldn't reach. The ones on hubby were both deer ticks so he called the dr and he's putting him on antibiotics and I have Nexgard for the dogs but just a heads up that the warm weather many of us are having is keeping them active.

We only had one (crawling]) on Annie this year but a couple (crawling) on my hubby! And that was in the Spring. But, yes, with the warm weather I'm not letting my guard down and thinking tick season is over. :nono: Not at all!

Interesting that people are still seeing ticks. We haven't seen any for a while now which seems odd to me because they were the worst I've seen earlier this summer. It's not like we sit around inside either. Riley and I (and now sometimes Cinder) do a pretty good hike everyday through woods, fields and around water. You'd think we would come aross at least 1 because it's been really warm here.
