Gosh, I couldn't even find the channel it was on last night and I went through all 100 or so channels we have. I should have just looked it up online to find the channel number but laziness got the best of me.

Legato (Kamterra's Legato) is quite the handsome dude. My money was on him. Glory (Dezperado's Hallelujah) was my pick bitch. I have seen both dogs in person and they are absolutely stunning.

Last night I was curious so I researched all the dobermans entered (I hope I'm not qualified as a doberman stalker now, lol!). My predictions were Legato (Kamterra's Legato) since he is one of my favorites, or Philmar Superman, as for bitches I preferred Hedda (Excelsia's this Side of Paradise) or Glory (Dezperado's Hallelujah). All stunning dogs!

I was there and posted some thoughts and photos in the Random Photo Of The Day Post. Below is the link if anyone is interested.

(My posting on Westminster got combined with a prior posting to Tad about dewclaws because DCF software combines two posts in a row into one, despite the different topics.)

Random photo of the day - post yours!

Was a bit disappointed. Plus, not a fan of the PWD. If I recall a PWD took group last year too. Not a fan of the breed

Foxfire's All Star sure appears as sire often in that list!!
[DOUBLEPOST=1424236211,1424233638][/DOUBLEPOST]The Dobe that represented the breed in the group sure had quite a look to the eyes. What do you all think of it? The eyes looked too close together, or at least compared to the width of the head. Hmm. Not sure what was going on there.

We looked into getting a conformation Dobe this time, as I've mentioned. I was hesitant based on the look of the sire's eyes. I guess it was different than what I saw tonight. The Dobe at Westminster tonight had nice, intense, deep-set almond-shaped eyes.

Is there a trend toward this sort of different look to the eyes?

Legato is sired by Blue (MISS GCH Ravenswoods Azure Sky RA) as is Glory. You will see Blue's beautiful face stamped on his offspring frequently. Blue is the current top producing sire all breed of 2014 and I believe as if August 2014 he had sired 98 champions. More have achieved that level since then I am sure. Perhaps this is the trend you are seeing...

I happen to love his head and eyes. I think Glory has the prettiest head and upper carriage of any female I have seen.

So Legato was the one who represented in the group competition? I will say his eyes were definitely (when they showed them on TV last night) very intense and even sinister looking. I loved that aspect of them!!

Let me see if I can put up a pic of the eyes of the male that is the sire of the pup I thought I was going to get.

In order to try to not offend any of the purportedly spooky-small Doberman community, I've blurred most of this head shot. This is the sire of the pup I thought I was going to get.

It shows that look to the eyes that I'm talking about. It's the same as I saw in the Westminster BOB male last night at least in that they seem too close together. This guy has a worried, and I hate to have to say it, but not too intelligent look to the eyes. But plenty of judges are fine with it, as he's a Grand Champion.

Yes, that was Legato :) He has a beautifully expressive, ideal Dobie head.

I don't think either this dog, or Legato's eyes are displaced or too close together. The standard calls for an almond shaped, expressive eye and is specific on color, but not on placement, which varies on every dog due to the shape of the head.
