She ate part of a towel......

After 3.5 years she decided she likes chewing swiss cheese holes into the blankets now
Asha has had the same blanket for 4 years now. It looks like Swiss cheese, but it's from biting down on it, slinging it around etc. But chewing and picking at it? Nope. I've given her two more, one for the bedroom which is only for the bedroom because she brings it up on my bed, the original can be anywhere in the house and gets pretty dirty between washings and I don't want it on my bed. The third one I leave on her bed in the office but when the Original and the New one are next to each other she always picks up the Original. The new one has been available for almost a year now and I've never seen it in her mouth.

Consider yourself lucky! She always only sucked it until Stavros came along. Pretty sure they teach each other bad habits and this isn't one to break besides completely removing the fun🤦‍♀️

🤣 I had to laugh at that! Little smarty pants.

Really? I didn't know that. It does seem like some do it and some don't. They've got to weed that out of the breeding! 🤣

I never experienced that in a dog. Buddy was a blanket sucker and I made sure he had his own and not mine! LOL sometimes he would even tear off pieces but I would watch him spit them out! It was truly amazing and I was very grateful!

I'm glad she's doing well!
thank you...

Ragnar was definitely an eater. That asshat ate an entire Aloe Vera plant at 7months old. Surprisingly, that did not kill him. Socks, panties, scrunchies….etc. we were not prepared for that kind of psychotic behavior. None of the 12 past dogs ever ate anything but food.

Freyja is not an eater but I see her demeanor and personality changing since she has become the sole Doberman in our household.

But they are two waaay different Dobermans. Ragnar was intense and business, always want to do something NOW. He did not like being told no and would try and figure out to get what he wanted. Freyja is a switch on/off Doberman and corrects very easily. She is cognizant of right and wrong and wants to be in good graces.

PICA or OCD? Prob so but I think that it’s more of what made Ragnar’s intense personality. Brain always ticking always looking and searching. Nothing there? hey, I have to find something to feed this inner urge. Oh, there’s a sock and it smells like my master…table rag? smells of the steak they ate last night…aloe Vera plant? What the hell, let’s chew on that for a while. Ragnar needed a daily, an hourly job/mission to keep him constantly occupied or else he stimulated himself.

The way you described your girl is exactly how my last Lady was in every way... absolutely no problems.. in anything.. now i do blame some of the issues on multiple dogs of the same age.. and three the same breed.. i know the difference between easy and hard..lol.. And some just need constant attention.. which i call my "Needy" dobes Lucy...... but she is soooo loving and kind natured.. we will get through it.. i am glad so far no extremes in a negative way..

Glory was the first dobe we have had that ate fabric and almost gave us a heart attack. She is 4 years old now, and nice and mature. When she was young, she ate part of a memory foam pillow, part of an old leather couch, and a small bit of our matress....(on different occasions) We addressed the issue right away, (Husband was not watching her, nor put her in her crate!) Since we caught it right away, she had not started to act lethargic, so I did not go to the vet; because there really isn't anyone who I trust enough other than the university here...I did the opposite; gave her about 1/2 cup of coconut oil with sloopy canned food. Sure enough, she pooped out pieces of the foam pillow, and I was able to 'piece them to the pillow' to see that was all of it. I know; sounds disqusting; but the only way to do it! Same with the pieces of leather couch. My logic was that if I put sludge through; it would push it through....if nothing came out I would have raced to the university ;). I don't miss that phase of a dobermans life!

wow very smart of you to take action.. it worked ...wonderful......

The interesting thing was; no poop really came out...just the fabric. And it came out within a few hours. The foam came out scrunch up, landed on the ground and 'opened up' like a flower
This just might be the way to do it.... success at this crucial stage is just awesome,, i know they use peroxide to make them throw up... but if it passes through the intestine... or further .... lubricating sounds like a great discovery .
