Thanks! When you say lines are you referring to American/euro? If so i was told his father is euro and mother is American but they both look more american to me. Whats your theory about markings?

Oh heres another...blurry but hes still looking handsome :)

Well, I must admit that I'm confused as to American vs. Euro. My mind is set up to think working vs. conformation. Add in American (or North American) vs. Euro, and I'm confused.

But my theory is: Working Dobermans tend to have smaller chest markings and richer, darker markings – sometimes also with what I call a black "wash" over parts of the markings. In addition, in working Dobes, I see more pencil marks (those little black marks on each toe that yours has) and thumb prints (the black mark on the to of the paw, which yours had a hint of).

The qualities I describe working Dobes as having, I also sometimes see in Euro Dobes.

There may be some truth to that since what you describe on working dobermans fits his euro father who has very little chest marking, plus the darker color...which i believe are euro/working dog traits. His mothers is opposite.
I'm not sure about the markings on his paws, but they look pretty cool to me. Can't wait to pick him up :)

I thought I saw quite a bit of Euro in him but I'm sure he'll be a nice balance of the two.

Euros are stockier/bigger boned and as stated, they usually have darker rust coloring, but it varies a lot from dog to dog.

You're probably right that he looks more euro, i cant really tell the difference in puppies. His parents heads both looked long and narrow which i thought was an american thing, but i'm still a dober-noob :(

Both NA and EU Dobes can be working and conformation. The pencil lines on the toes and thumbprint on the feet are also not exclusive to either style. My NA bred females have very defined pencil lines. My NA/EU male does too. The melonistic coloring does tend to occur more frequently in the EU lines.

Thanks. :) I knew that both NA and Euro Dobes could be from either working or conformation lines.

What I don't know is (among other things):

What Euro conformation lines are like. Do they have better working ability than NA conformation lines?

I don't know if NA working lines are always heavily Euro-influenced.

See, I have this blurred image of working and Euro where they are sort of the same. Someone kindly set me straight.

Aunt liberty looks double the size of your two! I love the first photo! dogs are so funny! "This seat seems as good as any!"
I think Aunt Liberty is 86 lbs, not 100% sure. My red girl Bella weighed 81.5 yesterday, they are pretty close in size.
Lily is forever sitting or laying on Bella .. lol poor Bella cant win, Nexus used to do the same thing to her when she (Bella) was a puppy.

This was Sunday, January 11th when it was a nice day temperature wise but we still had snow on the ground. It was the first time in a while that I was able to ride and what fun plowing through the snow! Still, I wasn't out for very long. Our son and grandson were visiting and I was able to get on the other side of the camera for once!!

This is my heart horse, Cheyenne. "Ankle" deep in snow. :wacky:

Let's hit the road!! Off to the pet food store yesterday. Then to the vet to empty my wallet for some Trifexis.

Look at the sweet, innocent calm little guy!

Fast forward a few moments and we're barking and howling down the road making me look like an ogre. Next we terrorize the store.

It was about 25-30 degrees. We don't need no stinking jacket!

SOMEBODY must of had something he shouldnt have. A little vomitting and dehydration. No bloat no block which is good. Fluids, bland diet and rest for this little troublemaker.
