Random Pet Photo of the Day - 2024

Only when you live where the humidity is absent do you understand what the sunlight can do. Humidity was 8% today. Not sure what it was when I took this photo a few days ago, but there is such clarity to the shadow it's almost like another photo. Moisture in the air tones down or blurs the sharpness. You photographers probably know this already, but I was astonished at the shadow sharpness here! IMG_5132.webpIMG_5134.webp

Love paws crossed. Yes, shadows are sharper in low humidity environments.

So ... Dingo went into her crate with her foot bandage last night and came out without it this morning. Cost of bandage: $78. Cost of vet visit to recover it (puke session): $214. Cost of her comfort: priceless.

Lesson confirmed: insurance

I went garage sailing with my daughter and daughter-in-law yesterday and we had so much fun. One of the best parts for me is seeing everyone's dogs! There's so many people who have their dogs out or at the back door to the garage and I always get in a conversation.😍 And of course the question I asked everyone is, how much?😝 It's a running joke for me but I so enjoy petting all the dogs. We saw so many cute ones yesterday. One of them was a black Pomeranian that I just could have picked up and taken home! She was 13 years old! Of course we talked about the Pomeranians I had when I was younger and I told him I had one live to 18 years old. And I've always wanted a black one.

And then we came upon this rabbit! OMG! So soft and so gentle. Just laid in its owner's arms and let everyone pet it. I actually forgot the name of the breed but it's some kind of giant rabbit. They had another one in the house. I've seen pictures of these but never saw one in person.

Another day having fun at the park playing tug of war (and looking handsome as heck).

Had some creepy guys keep standing and staring behind us, making some shady comments; so I had Draco bark and lunge at them on command, you best believe they were gone in a matter of seconds lol, no one's messing with us.

I live in a dangerous neighborhood, so that's why I taught him the command in the first place, just to scare shady people away.

He is a sharp looking Doberman 🤎🖤

Glad you’re ok and of course you’d be with Draco! Awesome job you two 🙌👏

How did you teach that? My husband wants me to teach Pepper that also. I run in the woods a lot and alone, not anymore soon ☺️as for now Pepper and I hike in there. Although, Summer time is on its way and it brings all the weirdos out in the woods - which is annoying and not safe. I hate winter, but it’s nice when no one is in the woods.

Thank you so much! He's really goofy in person lol.

He's always been very aloof when it comes to strangers and protective of me, specially around men; idk if him coming from working lines matters? But it's extremely hard to make it into his inner circle, even if he's known you for ages, he'll still be cautious and look at you dead in the eye :facepalm:unless you got food lol.

•I'm not a profesional by any means, and I use him only as a deterrent, but I taught him that whenever I say "Who's there?" He should bark and lunge at whoever I was pointing at. If I caught him growling or barking at someone "dangerous" I actually encouraged him to, and kept repeating "Who's there?" and he got it! He's not allowed to show those traits with no command given, only when I let him, he can have a growl but that's all I allow. He's not reactive at all, nor aggressive (loves greeting other dogs, even intact males) I have him under control, but he also has a bomb proof off switch command and recall; if I say "Enough Draco" he stops and just stares. I wouldn't let him act that way otherwise; then afterwards I praise him and redirect him onto his tug to let that bad energy out haha.
