I feel you there. Ripley loves to suckle but from 6-7 months on she's been banned from stuffy toys. Can't suckle if she destroys them! And that she does. Kinda makes me sad cause it was so nice to have her self soothe instead of whining. Now I get whining
She goes 100mph everywhere and leaps anything in her way! She has been carefully xrayed and it isn't skeletal and while she was under she had all her limbs checked for dislocations etc. Nothing showed up but it is still something that happens and has to be managed. With her overlong legs it will probably be a chronic problem.

Thankfully Phoebe still suckles blankets regularly so we don't get much of the whining.
I swore I'd never do it but she's sort of going away for a boot camp to learn a little of everything with our original trainer, who I really trust. It's going to be really hard but hubby has to have surgery and we can't figure out a way for him to get her out while I'm at work. We can't just open the door and let her out like we could the others and hooking her to a leash and collar with one hand would be nearly impossible.
Ripley watching people come in to Lowe's during down stays. She checked in with me after every person and was rewarded. Did a short session of focus heeling afterwards with some engagement warm ups and then went on our way after she offered focus. End on a good note even if it's for only a hot minute! We are very slowly but surely building on it!
That is actually a great idea. Two birds with one stone! Hope the surgery goes well.
Jazz is on a daily dose of 4cyte which is a natural joint supplement and I still have the prescribed painkiller from when this started to happen about a year ago so just give her a few days of pain relief and enforced rest. She doesn't like the rest! Think I might start a new thread sometime soon with my observations of what is happening and see if any of you recognise the symptoms. There will be a routine vet visit soon and they seem to be a bit pushed to diagnose, but it is almost certainly a soft tissue problem I think.
