I love it and what creative thinking!! Does he jump from the ramp to get out of the pool? That first hurdle of getting into the pool from the dock is the hardest!!! We tried everything with Ripley; all positive from ramp only to coaxing with us in the pool to excitement with all her friends jumping off without her. That last one got her soooo close. Auntie Lacey had enough of it! After a few weeks trying everything, knowing she was SO close she simply held her in place at the end of the dock so she couldn't back up and Ripley was like, " well, I have no other option from here than jumping ON mom in the pool" and that's what happened 😩😂 After that we allowed it to be her choice and now you can't keep her out. She's a little fish! But she needed that guiding hand or else she wasn't going to get over it lol.

Yes, I really like this trainer. She's pretty no-nonsense and 'figure it out!' while still keeping dogs really excited and willing to work.

Moose WANTS to do it but it seems he's still in the Thinking Too Much phase  I wonder if he couldn't be persuaded, as Ripley nearly was, by seeing another dog do it and *GASP* survive...

Class is only half an hour long but he's the only dog so he's running and swimming, running and swimming the whole time. When we first tried the table and he took to it, he was going dock, table, water boom-boom-boom. As he started to get tired, it was dock, table....... water, with a front toe testing the water before committing to the jump. Trainer says that once he get's that down to the point where he doesn't need to think about, table goes away and we see what happens!

How far do you think Ripley is jumping???

Not very far right now! We've only taken her a few times between everything else going on so between that and getting over the hurdle of jumping off the dock, shes now safely jumping in with no hesitation! Maybe 10+ ft. I'll have to watch next time. She doesn't track the toy at all yet, just jumps in very flat right after it. So we've been cleaning the pool in exchange for our own private dock time while we are there and started using the bumper rig to hopefully begin teaching her to jump up and out for the toy. Hoping that will translate over to tossing the toy once shes getting it off the rig consistently. I'll make a dock thread sometime soon so we can chat more about it and share progress and pics together!!

:spit:I have never tried to teach Jazz to dive into a pool...........................but...........................she was on the pool edge while I and my friends were in the middle. I had my back to Jazzie and suddenly everyone yelled LOOK OUT! You guessed it. She'd lined me up and taken a leap to land smack on me. :sour:

@LifeofRubie Moo has such a happy expression about getting his water gear on!
