Im not feeling well today so I left work a couple hours early. Normally I get home at 11:30pm. Its now about that time and I have a feeling ill be up all night with stomach pain. But its okay- Jasper will keep my spot on the couch warm for the whole 30 seconds I get up. He takes my spot. I think he likes the warmth.

I realize I always post more pictures of Moo than Rubie. Moo is ALWAYS underfoot and way more interested in what I'm doing. Rubie is usually napping somewhere or concerning herself with the fence line

There is just something about Rubies big beautiful eyes. They are soul piercing. The first time I came on this forum and saw her, I couldn’t get over her eyes! Looking forward to more pics.

Jasper had his 1yr check up today. He was doing so well until they went to take his blood. There was something about them going near his hind end that freaked him out. So we all decided to muzzle him. He was that nervous. Peed on the floor and everything. Not typical for him. But id have to say- the staff handled it very well. They were calm and understanding of the stressful situation. First time I have been impressed by this facility.

Handsome guy regardless. 82lbs.

How did she do?
2nd in her class of 3. Surrounded by professionals once again (no surprise)
and three top twenties were there...! They did good though! He is getting more comfortable with waiting for their their turn with her free stacked to catch the judges eye and getting her really animated showing so she gaits with ears forward. They've been working on making it all very fun times for Ripley! He will eventually get there where he isn't so nervous and everything feels natural. Funny how AKC makes him nervous when he's comfy showing UKC! He got to handle a Corso for a friend too. Great way for him to keep getting experience and get the nerves out 😊 Thanks for asking!

I was wondering if this one is AKC or UKC. I don't care how good we would be in the ring, it would be the people who make me nervous at AKC shows.

What's the difference between them?
No professionals allowed in UKC. AKC is largely professionals, especially Dobermans. Their last show for example they were the only owner handler pair for Dobermans out of almost 30. It's much more formal. They don't wait around... if you have ring conflicts, too bad. Nice part though we aren't there all day like UKC.

Exactly and UKC is very friendly and helpful to their competitors where AKC competitors can have that "you don't belong here" attitude no matter how nice your dog is. Like Rits said, the UKC encourages you to get out there yourself with your own dog (hiring a handler isn't allowed) and with AKC you almost have to hire a professional handler.
