Jasper has been annoyingly needy today. Following every step while I clean the house and do maintenance on my fish tanks. I have been tripping over him all day!

Finally decided to take a break. Of course Jasper needs to lay near me. Adam took a photo of his expression.

I hate it when anyone calls a breed "mini" to make them sound legit
And the fact that breeders sometimes use the dwarf gene to make a "mini" is inviting a host of health problems to the designer breed.

If they are not a purebred breed and have 2 or more breeds in them they are a Mutt.
True that. I do have to admit my thoughts on purebreds/cross breeds is that if a breeder is trying to improve the breed or breed for a purposeful goal, it can be helpful to outcross genes and make a great dog. I think of Lurchers as a good example. On the other hand, these designer breeds are made for one reason: to create a fad and make quick $$$, giving no thought to the health of the new breed.

When these clients come in with these designer breeds saying they paid $3k to $5k for their puppy obviously have more money than sense.

We try our best to educate them on medical issues that present in both breeds and how it may affect the future health of their puppy.
Our concerns fall on deaf ears until that mini English Bulldog develops the allergies that leave it with severe pruritis.
Treatments are not always successful and are costly. Not to mention the discomfort the dog has to endure.
We had a Corgi x Husky mix come in. Yes he was cute but we saw some questionable temperament issues that the clients overlook because ‘he is too cute to be aggressive’. It’s like a ticking time bomb with their health and their aggression.
I’ve always said you cannot educate a closed mind.

He looks all grown up (sorta!). How is the family doing with this little wild one? Everything work out in the end?

I mean... He almost ate a paper towel, a cupcake, and half a pizza that I was able to intercept and stop but I almost think that even if they had major issues with him, I wouldn't be the one to hear about it. Because, ya know, I told you so.

I was outside playing with him, just the two of us, and he's still just a puppy who gets silly zoomies but seems to not want to listen. Not sure if that's because it was me and not my SIL or her husband? Too much pent up energy?

My SIL said she'll leave their sliding door cracked for him to go in and out. They have a shoddy 4ft fence. W.T.F.

Well, he LOOKS like he's turned out very well! I guess you would have to be a fly on the wall to know how he is at home but at least he's still in one piece!
