New to ear posting

Hi everyone
I have a 17 week old that I have just imported to the UK. I am posting her ears based on what I have seen on various instructional videos.
She hasn't taken to them well and I've had to contend with some quite vicious scratching to her ears which worried me. She is also quite a ninja at getting them off!!
Anyway I am being consistent and keep replacing every 24 hours as per the breeders advice. To be honest they rarely last 24 hours as she gets them off one way or another. But I do replace them straight away.
My questions are
The video the breeder sent me showed a bridge between the ears.... I have done this for the first week but notice that the left ear is always leaning in when in bandages and when I change them her ear is up but leaning dramatically across her head.
I have taken the bridge out last night and obviously the ear is now leaning out the other way from her head.... Will this encourage the ear to straighten up?
Also since I took the bridge out she seems a lot more comfortable and less inclined to harass her ears.
Fwiw her right ear is nicely straight up when I change the bandages
How important is the bridge?
I don't want to get this wrong and am just using guess work ATM.

Welcome from Minnesota and congrats on your new cutie! :welcome:

You are correct in leaving the center brace off since she seems to have good control of them and you'd rather have them leaning out a bit rather than leaning in. The photo you posted looks good and you could use less tape to make her more comfortable.

So cute!!!! ❤️

We did not do a bridge. Our breeder gave us her advice and stated that a bridge is more helpful when the ears are not doing what they need to. The idea is to get them doing what they need to do on their own as much as possible. It does take time due to the slow healing of cartilage.

Definitely less tape back taping is far more important. It takes time to figure it out completely. Lot of good advice here on the forum.

Thank you so much for your friendly and helpful advice. Really appreciated.
I am working my way through the forum advice.
Taking the bridge out definitely seems to have helped. Her left ear is straight on the last two times I have changed the posts
