Naughty puppy thread - post your pics

What the hell am I doing wrong???

Sorry, but I had to laugh. One blue moon positive 2 hr no crate session = you used up all of your "my puppies will be on good behavior" time card for the month!

Each dog is different, but I find the more drive they have in them, the longer they have to be crated. I didn't trust Java until after she was 2 years old...maybe it was 3 because of the kitchen trash having no good place to go. Well...GOOD LUCK with 2!:beer:

I've stopped beating myself up about it...I SO wanted him to have full roam...I freaking painted "his room," gave him the coolest chair I own, etc., etc.....NO, NO, NO...crate and boredom!..."So sorry, Jax, but good God!"

It was worse than I thought!:nono:hubby decided to fix it when he saw my pictures lol... so now she has a nice new one (just took some nylon strapping we already had and he put holes in to accomodate the box thing) but still, seriously, how!? it was LITERALLY hanging on by a few threads! thank God it didn't break over night before I caught it and give her the opportunity to chew the box!

I got lucky with Hexi as a puppy when it came to destroying things. Only thing she did was get into trash and treats if hubby didn't put the gate to kitchen up. Sereniti on the other hand was a totally different case. She chewed up the wall in bathroom. She has chewed up a ton of stuff and in a few months she will be 8. Still more trouble than my 11 month old GSP and 16 month old springer. My gsp is normally very well behaved, however he destroys every bed we have given him for in his crate. Both boys have done the usual charger cord chewing. Derringer did chew on the window sill when my husband was taking a nap,but I didn't get pics. I have noticed that Derringer(gsp) reminds me so much of both my past dobermans. He is so much like my Hexi,it makes me cry at times but also laugh. So much like her, even has some of the same food allergies and both had/have vitiligo!

Off topic but I just wanted to say thank you for letting me stay on the forum even though I don't have a doberman anymore. I am not sure if we will be getting another one(if we do not for a few years) Can we just say Derringer is a doberman ; )

Ya know all you guys warned me about 2 puppies at one time and everything you said is true. Lol
It is a ton of work especially with all my other animals and a husband but I have to say in spite of all their destructive shenanigans they give me so much happiness every day. The things they learn and happily do for you, their constant happy nature, all of it is worth every moment I have with them. They just have to be crated because love does not equal well behaved when unsupervised.hahahaha

Well this is the BEFORE picture... Pretzel found an abandoned ball on our walk and fell in love with it! He carried it for blocks and blocks- all the way home and wouldn't let it out of his sight. He was still holding it when I left for work. When my husband got home, there was fluffy ball filling EVERYWHERE! I can't help but think that was his plan all along, as we don't have toys with stuffing!

Bless his heart soon though he will get to sniff the presents and automatically know it's his because every SS has a dog that will somehow get their scent on the box and he will know it. Hahaha

Anything that involves fluff is off limits with Kobi, too.
He sometimes comes across abandoned tennis balls on his walks, like in the hedges. He falls in love with them but you just know that'll he'll chomp down on it and it splits in the middle making it flat! He then peels all the yellow outering off till it's completely unrecognisable!!
Guess he sees it as 5 minutes of pleasure lol

The Kong balls are fantastic. Look what I bought him (me!) for Christmas....

Ssh! Don't tell him ;)

I'm just going to replace the balls with Kong ones.

Jax and Kobi share some talents!! I haven't seen that toy....anxious to hear (and see videos) of how he likes it!
Jax can sniff out a tennis or baseball no matter where we are And by the time he carries it home (stealing it, I suppose)...it's already more of a liability than a toy.

Agreed re: the Kong toys! Pretzel loves his Kong treat holder and his Kong Wubba!

Don't have pictures this week, but we have learned to kill toys. I was over here being all yay, my dog doesn't destroy her toys. And then . . . I'll just take that right back. Sigh.

Granted Mila doesn't go out of her way to do it, but if she gets one tiny little mm sized hole with a stuffed toy, that's it. "I shall remove stuffing from this entire thing and leave it all over for mom to find!" Momma picks it up and shoves the stuffing BACK into the toy and throws it downstairs (thinking silly me that I'll deal with it later since it's behind a gate she can't get through). Only momma forgets about it down there because momma also has 10 other animals to deal with so when she goes downstairs to refill the dog food bowls in the morning with the daily ration and Mila helps me, Mila finds said toy and keeeeels it all over again, leaving the stuffing all over. I'm left to go . . . really? Again . . . Sigh. lol
