So I have this friend I went to school with and grew up with. We did alot in my teen years and had alot of fun. I went and got married and had kids, and she stayed single and childless. She calls still asking if I want to go to clubs with her and all that, which does not appeal to me anymore. I have taken her up on lunch and shopping every so often. I'm sure I bore her with my dog talk, as she does me with her new "flavor" or the week guy tales.
The other day she stopped by the house. I had no idea she was coming. She shows up and the dogs not knowing her, bark at first, and then sniff her as she enters. It's funny as they all lay watching her, and would shy from her advances to be petted. Her facail expression, body posturing and out held hand showed all the signs of a non animal lover. The dogs wanted nothing to do with her.
After idle chit chat for about 10 mins she decides to start bitching about how I never have fun anymore, and how boring I am now, and then starts in about the dog hair all over her new $100 pants, and $200 coat. She becomes irritated and starts dramatically whiping off her clothes. Sighing and really making a big deal over it. She has the nerve to tell me I should not allow the dogs on my leather sofa. I got quite defensive and told her I bought it, and its leather which wipes clean, and reminded her that this is the dogs home too, and that she was welcome to stand. LOL (I'm so mean.)
Needless to say she left. And I'm not sure I cared much. Do any of you ever go through this with non dog loving friends? I can't tell you how sick to death of people inviting themselves over to my home without asking. I feel I have no need to treat them as guests if they invite themselves and insult me.
Other then her, most of our company loves the dogs as much as we do. It just goes to show you how friends can drift apart in life. I'm pretty sure her attitude in general has kept her from finding anyone and settling down. Anyway I just had to vent.
