I started replying to this last night and fell asleep with the page still open. At any rate, congrats on your new addition - she's beautiful!

I love the silvers (we used to have some when I was a kid too) and standards are by no means froo-froo dogs.

If I'm not mistaken Jan, that's not a Silver but actually a Phantom. See I'm learning! lol

Love your new addition! My ex had a standard poodle and I had a doberman when we met. We traveled a lot and we always got the side eye from people seeing us coming & going, walking them, eating at (outdoor patio) restaurants: him with the fancy prancy poodle and me with my sharp-looking dobe. I love a standard poodle, just can't deal with the hair on acres of wild land here.

Interesting. I've never heard of a Phantom but some of her other ones are the Parti Poodles.

@JanS they almost have the same markings as a dobie and they come in a variety of colors. Akc doesn't allow anything other than solid color poodles in conformation but UKC allows them ALL. I saw a STUNNING brindle at the UKC recently. When he walked by I unintentionally gasped, so handsome. Here is a picture of him, he is less than a year old. Picture does not do him justice...

What a fun addition to the family! Looks like he’s fitting right in and making friends with everyone! I’ve always heard how smart poodles are and they certainly are regal looking.
