I should add that we were a little relieved since we knew it was time and his quality of life wasn't what it used to be. I was going to be calling someone to help him along in the next couple days but he went peacefully on his own.
Oh Jan, I'm so sorry! I know he hasn't been doing well for several months. I'm so glad he went peacefully on his own. But still devastating to lose him. He was a beautiful boy and lived a wonderful life with you and Rick. You guys have had more than your share of heartache!! I hurt for you. Please let us know if there's anything we can do for you!
It’s been a lot of tough changes for you and your family. I always think it’s a bit easier when you know it’s coming versus being surprised, but the grief is the same regardless. RIP Zeus
Thank you everyone. I guess we are indeed moving into a new generation, less any horses, which I've always had in my life for well over 50 years.
We still have the 40 year old parrot and of course the two young dogs so it's not all new generation.
So very sorry for your loss, you've had such a lot happening of late and mostly sad times my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Jan, R.I.P Zeus.
