Im sure many if not most of you are already aware that "another board" Forum has been acquired by Vertical Scope. While none of that is my concern, it has been brought to my attention that there is the misconception that Vertical Scope has also purchased Doberman Chat. This is simply rumor and untrue.
Our forum is still privately owned and will stay that way. My personal guarentee to everyone right now is if i were to ever decide to sell, I would offer it up to the community that made it what it is first.
Im sure some of the community has noticed my absence from the board lately. This is no more then a spare time issue. Im currently in the process of building a new Technical/Webmasters forum, witch i hope in the years to come will also benefit this forum in the long run. But with that my time here has been severely limited lately. Due to this it is true that Doberman Chat has been going through our own shift in management. JanS has been named as the lead administrator and my duties have been reduced to a purely technical aspect. I will continue to keep our forum running as smooth as possable. And as always if there are any problems with the forum please please post them in as much detail as you can in the appropriate forum. This is much more productive for me rather then answering the same PM's over and over.
On a similar note id also like to take the opportunity to announce that around the beginning of the new year we will be launching what ive dubbed DC 3.0 Ive been planning this for several months now, And i am already working on beefing up the forum with more features then we already have. These improvements will all be built inside of a complete website while lightening the load on the forum itself. All this means in plain english is that in a few short months our forum will be like greased lightning. as in faster then ever. there wont be any need for lean styles or any other band aids.
Ads will also be moved to the website itself and almost completely removed from the forum. (i cant make that a promise just yet) But i am working on a practical solution for ads. Of course im not speaking of sponsors or affiliates. these will remain as its our primary means of revenue required to keep the site operational.
Regards,
Von Doom.
