A doe and fawn under our bird feeder yesterday. I don't care what angles I tried, I couldn't eliminate the glare from the windows across the room.



I'm not sure what kind of an expression this was. LOL


I love the thick black fringe on the fawns ears, which is sort of unusual according to hubby.

They are very friendly. A couple of years ago I would feed corn to one in a coffee can. It got to the point where I could pet her on her head and ears! Lol. She would jump our fence and stand on our patio waiting.
In the back of my mind I would think of those shows when animals attack! ha ha ha ha

A few nights ago, I was out in my horse barn cleaning stalls in the evening. The horses have been inside a lot with all the ice we've had so I had the barn all closed up and taking each horse out to clean their stall. I had just let Sandy out when I heard a horrible screaming that sounded like it was right outside the barn door!! It scared the hell out of me because I thought someone was hurt. There's a young child at the house next to our property and I thought something happened! I then thought it was this persons dogs! They have two aussie dogs that together can get quite vocal! lol

Within a nano second, I realized these were coyotes!!!! I quickly turned on my video but I it sounded like they had already passed us by! Turn up your volume though, because they were still around and screaming like banshees!!! Such an eerie sound! I'm telling you, they were DAMN close in the beginning! I had my barn all closed up so to hear them so loud, they had to be close!!

One of my horse friends who lives less than 5 miles away told me she had a deer carcass in her culvert out front of her house and the coyotes were out there all the time. Really made it difficult with her two Labs!! They had to be sure they were on leash at all times and of course she could hear them all the time.

You haven't lived until you are awakened by that sound, sleeping in a tent 30 miles from anything and the first coyote call is about 8 feet from your head.

Yeah, that would wake anyone up!!!

There was a deer kill here a couple weeks ago too and I'm sure it was wolves. Della manged to find a fairly fresh leg from it and tried to bring it back to the house.

Hubby doesn't want them eating stuff like that at all. I just saw him carrying another leg or some sort of deer part after their walk so the darn wolves must have gotten another one.

My buddies dogs sometimes bring him a leg from a deer or elk, but they don't have wolves in the area. They have cats.
It's probable you have both.

There have been quite a few Cougar photos captured on trail cameras but I haven't seen any tracks around here since I was a kid. I know they are in the area though.

I wouldn't let them eat it either.

I don't think it would hurt them but I just don't want them get in the habit. I will sometimes give them raw pieces of venison when I'm packaging it and they love it.

Incredible. We live in the city – not Downtown, but not out in the country by any means. We've got houses all around, churches, schools, apartments, condos, the neighborhood square nearby with its shops and restaurants, a major road that's almost always busy.
And, we have this. Apparently a turkey walking down our street and down our driveway into our backyard. You see (her?) in a tree in the neighbor's yard thanks to Oji.
In the second and third pics you see a squirrel that I imagine was pretty perplexed as it tried to shoo the large invader out of its tree.

We see them all the time here, but usually on the ground! I've never seen one in a tree or at least I've never noticed! Out in the field, blocking the road, yes. lol

Wow, I've never seen a wild turkey here, aside from ones game farms have released, but I don't think they survive the winters very well either.
